No one wants to have their heart crushed. But being wounded in deep places happens. Sometimes it just seems to be a part of the rhythm of life.

And when these hard times come, we feel it all so very deeply. And we wonder if others have these hard, hard moments. After all, we don’t snap pictures of the crushing times and post them on Instagram.

We just wonder if we have what it takes to survive …
… when the doctor calls and says he needs to talk to me in person about the test results.
… when the teacher sends one of “those” emails about my child.
… when someone I love closes their heart and turns their back on me.
… when I feel so utterly incapable and unable and afraid…

End of Day Blessing: As the day wraps up and you crawl into bed tonight, may your body, mind, and soul be at rest and know the deep, abiding peace that comes from deeply knowing God. May He speak to you while you sleep and may He download fresh insight and perspective regarding your current circumstances. And as you rise up in the morning, may faith rise up in you and compel you to obey when you'd rather self-protect, give when you'd rather hoard, and trust when you're tempted to worry. You're not made for this place. You're only passing through. Live as one who is spoken for. Good night!

This a great devotional today for a few of you out there who getting weary under the strain of dealing with someone else's bad choices. Whereas they seem to be "living large " you are tired and sad and don't know how much longer you can do this. You know who you are: take comfort and gain encouragement from these verses.

Ever want what somebody else has? or seems to have? Comparison is deadly to our spirit. That beautiful girl, that woman with the gorgeous house, that man who has such a good job who travels everywhere, that family whose kids all seem so successful and polite.......they ALL have their struggles and secret hurts . An old story goes like this: a large group of people were asked to each write down their biggest problem , fold up the paper and place it anonymously , into a basket. The leader then asked,"Who would like to come up , reach in and choose another's burden, instead of your own?".......No one went forward, for fear that they might receive a far greater burden than what they currently had. Envy compares what is inside of each of us, to what we see outside on someone else.
