👩‍⚕️ Provider Spotlight: Jordan Mayle, BA HR

🌟 What do all those letters behind your name mean?
Bachelor of Arts Human Resources

🌟 What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
After nine years in HR within nursing homes and three years in foster care social work, I’ve seen life at both its most fragile and its most resilient. My work with foster families focused on rebuilding relationships and reunification, which taught me that a healthy family unit is the most important thing a child can have. I moved into pediatrics because I wanted to be on the "front lines" of supporting those families right from the start. I’ve always loved working with kids and watching them grow. Pediatrics gives me the opportunity to help children stay healthy, support families, and make a positive impact during some of the most important years of a child’s life.

🌟 What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part is building relationships with families and watching kids grow up over the years—from newborn visits through school age and beyond. I love seeing how much they've grown since their first visit! So bitter sweet 🙂

🌟 How do you make visits less stressful for kids?
It’s about the "Vibe Check." Because of my social work background, I’m hyper-aware of the energy in the room. I make sure that the office flow is designed to minimize long, anxious waits. If the lobby feels like a living room instead of a waiting room, half the battle is won.

🌟 What’s one piece of advice you give all parents?
Build your village. Parenting wasn't meant to be a solo sport. As a Mom I have learned that the strongest families aren't afraid to ask for help—whether from us, their community, or their friends. Don't wait until you're at a breaking point to reach out. & as parents, prioritize your own mental health. You cannot pour from an empty cup. In foster care, I saw how much a parent’s well-being affects a child’s success. It is okay to ask for help, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed, and it’s okay to put your "oxygen mask" on first. A healthy parent is the best gift you can give your kid.

🌟 Do you have kids?
I have four children. Ronan is 12, Gabriella is 10, Hadleigh is 8, and Millie is 3. They are my greatest teachers. My "mom-life" is the perfect balance to my "professional-life." Having four kids means I’ve lived through every fever, tantrum, and school-form emergency you can imagine. I’m right there in the trenches with you!

🌟 Fun fact about you?
I come from a big family—I have 12 siblings!
Fun twist: Jessica was my children’s doctor before she became my boss.
My great-grandfather, James Lyda Montgomery, was a doctor right here in Upshur County who made house calls.

We’re so grateful to care for your little ones 💕

Today's post is featuring our "Behind the scenes" crew!

First, we will highlight Greg- also known as "Dr. Jess' dad"
Some of you have seen Greg around the office (most likely at the same time Jess has been running around like her hair is on fire 😂) Fun fact! Greg now avoids our phone calls, because he's who we call when something breaks! Just kidding, Greg shows up when we need him most and will always lend a helping hand- even if he isn't too happy about it. 🛠️

Then we have Clay, Jessicah, Notashia, Kate, Candice, Sarah, and Dylan! The official office assemblers! A fun fact we should have included about Dr. Jess is that she hates to assemble furniture, and quite frankly, unless there's an award for "most spare parts left over after assembly," she isn't very good at it! This crew all came together when boxes started arriving and helped Dr. Jess assemble things (and subsequently, keep her sanity)! We should also mention that Jessicah is also our marketing and social media consultant!

Next up, we have Colin and Jake. Colin is our fill in receptionist/office manager, but he and Jake were also there when the concept of Goldilocks Pediatrics was created; they were part of our original remodel crew and have spent more than their fair share of time at the office helping us make it "just right". Colin is a true kid at heart, which is put on display with his collection of duck and dinosaur shirts!

Dr. Jess would also like to take time to give a shoutout to Rob Kimble, her accountant, Travis Abel Insurance (featuring Joyce) and Lynx internet services, all right here in Buckhannon! These gentlemen never hesitate to answer any questions Dr. Jess might have and she is always more than thankful for their expertise!

Dr. Jess always stresses to patients that it takes a village to raise a child, but what she learned very quickly is it also takes a village to start a pediatric practice, and she could not be more thankful for hers! 💜

I love helping the kids in every way possible.

🌟 What’s your favorite part of your job?
Getting to meet new faces and be a part of their lives and watching them grow.

Distract the children with their favorite cartoon or TV show, or with the characters or colors they may be wearing.

No question is a dumb question.

Yes, I have 5 kids of my own. 👱👱‍♀️👱👱‍♀️👱‍♀️

👩‍⚕️ Provider Spotlight: Dr. Jessica Mongold, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

🌟 What do all those letters behind your name mean?
DNP is my level of education. I'm a Doctor of Nursing Practice! APRN is my level of certification- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and FNP-C is my type of certification; I'm certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

🌟 What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
Funny story about that! Pediatrics we never my goal. I started my RN career in the Adult ICU. I moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, then East Stroudsburg, PA. I was talking about moving back to Florida, but my family wanted me to move home, so I told them I'd apply for a job and if I got it, I'd move back. So, I applied for the Pediatric ICU- something I assumed I wouldn't get, and I got the job. So, being a girl of my word, I took the job and moved back. I learned SO MUCH! I was then one of the first few nurses to open the pediatric emergency department and eventually transferred to the Trauma/Adult ER. When I went back to school, I had full intention of working with adults again, but as I was graduating, a pediatric opening came available, and the timeline was perfect! I've not regretted a single day of it. So, to answer the question, I was in the right place at the right time!

🌟 What’s your favorite part of your job?
Building relationships with families and watching kids grow over the years. When I started in December of 2020, I never knew the impact watching these littles grow would have on me. My newborns are starting kindergarten though, and that was so heartwarming. 💜

🌟 How do you make visits less stressful for kids?
By creating a calm, welcoming environment, using age-appropriate communication, and adding a little fun whenever possible 😊I take pride in the fact that my kiddos aren't afraid of me!

🌟 What’s one piece of advice you give all parents?
Trust your instincts, you know your child best. And never hesitate to ask questions! I'm here to help you. There's no such thing as a stupid question!

🌟 Do you have kids?
I do not have any children of my own, although I do count my 4-legged kiddo, Cooper 🐶. I have 5 nephews and 3 nieces. Helping keep all those crazy kids alive is a contact sport if I've ever seen one.

🌟 Fun fact about you?
I'm an overachiever. I've run a full marathon, half marathons, a triathlon, color run, spartan race, 10ks, 8ks, and 5ks. I've coached competitive swimming and basketball. I'm a certified basketball referee. I'm always learning something new and giving something else a try. I'm also quite crafty!

We’re so grateful to care for your little ones 💕

🚨 April Fools at Goldilocks Pediatrics! 🚨

This morning started like any other… until it didn’t 😄

Our amazing staff decided to surprise Jess in the most “just right” way possible, by showing up in their coziest pajamas AND turning her office into a full-on plastic wrap masterpiece! 🛏️✨

Let’s just say… getting to her desk was a bit of an adventure 😂

Jess took it like a champ (after finding the keyboard… and then the chair… and then the rest of her office), and we all had a great laugh to kick off the day. They even wrapped her diet cokes!

At Goldilocks Pediatrics, we believe a little fun (and a lot of teamwork) makes everything better 💛

Happy April Fools’ Day from all of us! 🎉

☀️💛 Happy Sunny Sunday, Goldilocks Family 💛☀️

We had an idea, and we want some feedback from YOU!

Sports physical season is upon us, and we know just how annoying it is to show up to your sports physical to find out you have to pay for it on the spot, or trying to track down free sports physical clinics, only to realize, it doesn’t fit in your families schedule.

So we had some ideas, and we want to know what works best for you!

These are just some ideas, so drop what works best for you and your families in the comments and we will make sure to do the best we can!

— If you already see us for an appointment over the summer and you’re an established patient, just let the front desk know you need a sports physical, and we can complete this for FREE at your already scheduled appointment. No booking another appointment. No hunting down a free clinic!

— One afternoon a week dedicated to sports physicals that are free for already established patients or highly discounted for new patients!

— Do we need to do some evening hours or maybe a Saturday to help accommodate?

Help us, help you!
After all, our slogan is “providing care that’s just right” and we mean that! 💛

⏰ Appointment Policy Reminder from Goldilocks Pediatrics

At Goldilocks Pediatrics, we are committed to providing timely, efficient care for all of our patients. To help us continue offering short wait times and same-day appointment availability, we kindly ask for your cooperation with our scheduling policies.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, you may be asked to reschedule. If you anticipate running late, please give us a call as soon as possible. In many cases, we can let you know whether your visit will need to be rescheduled or if we’re able to adjust our schedule to accommodate you.

We understand that life happens, and we always strive to extend grace whenever we can. In return, we ask for that same understanding and flexibility from our families.

As many of you know, our office is a small, thoughtfully designed space with just two exam rooms. Maintaining an efficient schedule is essential to ensuring that we can continue providing the high-quality, timely care you’ve come to expect.

We also want to acknowledge that being asked to reschedule can be frustrating, and we truly appreciate your patience in those moments. However, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for aggressive language or behavior toward our staff. We are here to help and support your family, and we ask that all interactions remain respectful.

Thank you for helping us keep our office running smoothly and for trusting us with your child’s care. 💛

If you ever have questions about our policies, they are accessible on our website www.goldilockspediatrics.com
