What is Maha Sivaratri?
Maha Sivaratri is a major Hindu festival celebrated in Feb/March honoring Lord Siva. It marks the wedding of Siva and Parvati, or the night he performed the Tandava dance. Devotees fast, hold all night vigils, chant, and worship the Siva-lingam.
It is the “Great Night of Siva,” symbolizing the overcoming of darkness and ignorance. It is believed to be a night of natural energy upsurge, favoring spiritual growth. 💥

LOTUS: Light of Truth Universal Shrine at Satchidananda Ashram-Yogaville on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 as the snow❄️began re-freezing🧊 in the early evening after melting a bit during the day.
After snowing all day Sunday, Jan. 25th, temperatures have remained in the upper single digits at night and the high 20s to 31 during the day. Today has been another beautiful icy🧊cold day here. Roads and pathways are slippery.
The ashram is and will remain closed to all visitors due to continued icy🧊conditions and possible snow. Saturday Satsang is also canceled.

Our beloved Swami Divyananda Ma has just finished administering teacher training to six students in Sri Lanka. As you may know, Integral Yoga has deep roots in Sri Lanka, as Swami Satchidananda himself lived and taught there beginning in 1953.
