This week marked a significant milestone in our growth, as we returned the keys to First Brethren Church of Buena Vista Virginia highlighting a period of development. Since our founding, First Brethren Church has provided substantial support and generosity, enabling us to expand our services and establish a strong foundation. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to have grown from our first location, which served as the grassroots base for our organization.

To better support our community, we have added hybrid and virtual options for our support meetings.

The REAL Life group on Tuesdays and the Peer Support group on Wednesdays are now offered as a hybrid option. Our SMART Recovery meeting on Wednesdays has transitioned to a virtual-only meeting.

You can find the meeting links and more information about all the support groups available on our website.

F&F Support is a peer-led group for any adult with a loved one who has experienced substance use and/or a mental health condition. Gain insight from the challenges and successes of others facing similar experiences.

We have several exciting updates regarding our support groups starting in February.

To better accommodate our community members, we have changed the time for our in-person groups to 6:30 – 7:30 PM. Please note that the Monday night Family and Friends Support group will remain at its original time of 5:30 – 6:30 PM.

🌟Beginning Thursday, February 5th, the NA: The Way Back group will begin meeting at our center from 6:30 – 7:30 PM.🌟

We are also pleased to offer our first virtual meeting. The SMART Recovery meeting will now be held virtually on Wednesdays from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. Additionally, our Peer Support group has moved to Wednesdays from 6:30 – 7:30 PM.

As a reminder, we provide transportation services for all groups held at our location. To arrange transportation, please call 540-572-2312 and select option 0.

Due to continued low temperatures and possible poor road conditions, we will not be hosting an in-person Peer Support group this evening. Instead we will be offering a virtual option at 7PM.

Peer Support group utilizes an open discussion format and provides a healthy, safe environment for individuals to confidently express themselves without judgement. Tonight's group will be "Music in Recovery"

SMART Recovery stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. It emphasizes self-empowerment and helps participants discover the root of the addictive behavior and ways to overcome it.

Due to continued poor road conditions and low temperatures we will not be hosting an in-person group this evening.

We will be offering a virtual option for our REAL Life group at 7 p.m. tonight. Recovery from Everyday Addictive Lifestyles (REAL Life). Its primary goal is to help participants restructure and reframe destructive thought patterns while developing healthy coping skills.
