🔥 DAY EIGHT OF HOT YOGA EXPLAINED:
Today we explore the stages of Standing Head to Knee Pose — Dandayamana–Janushirasana.
This asana is a powerful reminder that nothing meaningful happens all at once. Just like in life, we move through stages — slowly, intentionally, and with presence. The final expression is never the starting point. You build toward it, one layer at a time.
If you’ve ever looked at this pose and thought, “There’s no way I can do that,” remember: you aren’t meant to start there. You start with your body, your balance, your flexibility, and your breath.
This posture unfolds in stages:
1️⃣ Lifting the knee and finding your grounding.
2️⃣ Engaging the core and stabilizing the standing leg.
3️⃣ Holding the foot and building strength evenly through the body.
4️⃣ Extending the leg when the body is ready.
5️⃣ Eventually, one day, forehead to knee — the full expression.
Each stage is purposeful. Each stage builds strength, focus, and discipline. And each stage is valid. Your body will look different, feel different, and progress differently — and that’s exactly how this practice is designed.
