Mercy Children's (IA) and Wentworth-Douglass Children's Hospital (NH) were looking for ways to improve patient care. Internal funding was tight so they found a partner in Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Because of strict infection control precautions, we are unable to keep toys for them to interact with in the waiting areas or treatment rooms. Consequently, with nothing to distract them, time seems to pass even more slowly and the children's anxiety, and sometimes even their level of pain, increases.
