Haircuts can be tough for many kids, so we practice them step by step at the clinic! ✂️ Our toleration sessions focus on helping children feel safe and successful while getting used to the sounds, tools, and sensations of a real haircut. With patience, play, and positive reinforcement, big progress happens! 💛

A big thank-you to the Vernon Hills Area Library for visiting our clinic! The kids had a blast listening to stories, singing along, dancing through bubbles, and trying out the ukulele. 📚💫 What a fun way to learn and play together!

Turn-taking teaches our clients how to wait, respond to others, and share access to preferred items or activities. All skills that help build meaningful social interactions!

We often begin with familiar adults so clients can learn the routine in a predictable environment. Once the skill is more consistent, we practice it with peers so they can use what they’ve learned during play and social interactions with friends.

Every successful “my turn, your turn” shows progress toward greater social communication! 💙
