In honor of National Volunteer Month OMNI would like to thank Sandra Howell for her service on our Board of Directors. 💜

Sandra Howell joined OMNI’s Board in 2018 and was elected to President in 2025. She also serves on the Governance Committee and provides support for all of OMNI’s events. Sandra supports OMNI because she is passionate about supporting organizations that help children and families, especially in coping with substance abuse and the all too common mental health issues that lead to that. Sandra will soon be retiring from her role as Director of Compensation at Illinois Tool Works (ITW), a longtime OMNI partner.

“OMNI is unique because they are local and meet the needs in our local community and know what it is that needs to happen in the local community. I love being a board member because it’s a great board, a great staff, and having built the relationships over the past few years you can see the difference that OMNI makes. We are so grateful to the Rotary Club of Palatine for supporting OMNI at their Night of Impact!

Pictured here is Rotary Club of Palatine President Joe Mazzocchi presenting the grant award to our Chief Development & Marketing Officer, Chrissy Trilling-Raices.

This funding will support a bilingual (English and Spanish) substance use prevention event in partnership with Partners for Our Communities at the Palatine Community Resource Center. Parents will gain practical tools to recognize warning signs, start meaningful conversations, and participate in a guided tour of a staged teen bedroom to learn how to identify hidden signs of risky behavior.

We’re also excited to share that OMNI now provides individual and family counseling services every Thursday inside the Palatine Community Resource Center — expanding access to affordable, local support for Palatine residents.
