It’s tougher to qualify for SSDI if you’re under 50 —
but these are three work limitations Social Security looks at in almost every case:
✅ Can’t make it through a full workday
✅ Off-task too often
✅ Frequent absences
If those sound familiar, you may already meet the criteria.

Most people lose their SSDI case because of what’s written on their old job descriptions.
SSA decides your case based on your past work — not just your medical records.
Be specific. Tell them how hard your work really was.

Social Security doesn’t approve you just for being in pain.
You have to show how that pain stops you from working full-time.

When you talk to your doctor or fill out your SSDI forms, describe:
✔️ What triggers your pain (sitting, standing, lifting)
✔️ What you do to relieve it (resting, lying down, elevating legs)
✔️ How it limits your focus, movement, or ability to finish tasks

It’s not about the pain — it’s about the impact.
Know this before you apply or appeal your case.

Social Security just confirmed the 2026 cost-of-living adjustment (COLA): a 2.8% increase.
That means about 75 million Americans — retirees, survivors, SSDI, and SSI recipients — will see bigger checks starting January 2026. On average, that’s about +$56 a month.

Notices go out in December, but if you have a my Social Security account, you can see your new benefit online early.

Most people who apply for SSDI on their own get denied.
Want to beat the odds? You need professionals on your side.

We turn denials into approvals — no win, no fee.

Disability (SSDI) doesn’t approve cases just because you’re in pain — it approves them because pain stops you from working.
If pain keeps you from focusing, sitting, standing, or finishing simple tasks, that’s what the SSA needs to hear. Be specific when talking to your doctor so your records show how pain limits you. That’s how you win your case — and get the back pay you’re owed.
