Good lighting and the right magnifier make all the difference.

Reduce eye strain and enjoy reading, crafting, or daily tasks with ease. A small lighted magnifier is perfect for quick labels and menus, while hands-free or stand magnifiers keep your hands relaxed for longer reading. Pair them with an adjustable task lamp to direct light exactly where you need it—without glare.
Not sure which magnifier strength to start with? Begin with a lower power and move up until reading feels effortless. Small changes in lighting and magnification can make a big improvement in comfort and confidence.

At Independent Living we are dedicated to helping those with low vision gain independence by offering many solutions and devices to help people with poor vision live their lives with dignity. For example, we offer the Talking Label Wand. The Talking Label Wand allows you to create your own recorded messages to record anything in your home. Put a special sticker on anything which you want to label, and record an audio label into the talking label wand. That message then becomes associated with that sticker. When you want to hear the message played back, touch the tip of the pen to the sticker, and the message is played back. Create memos, notes to self, appointments, phone numbers, addresses, medication instructions, CD labels, and virtually anything with this handy digital label recorder. Check it out at https://independentliving.com/talking-label-wand/ and while you’re there, take a look at our other helpful options.
