DISCUSSION ON JUNG AND DEMOCRACY OF OUR MINDS

(This is not a political statement)

Donald Kalsched — Can Running Our Minds Like a Democracy Save Us?

Don Kalsched is a Jungian Analyst, an expert on treating trauma, author of two books, The Inner World of Trauma and Trauma and the Soul.

Jung discovered our inner world is populated by various imaginal figures representing powerful psychological forces. If we treat our minds as democratic spaces, it can safeguard us from internal and external authoritarian influences.

Prepare to discover the parallels between a balanced mind and a healthy society, whether viewing internal conflicts through a democratic lens is healing, which insights foster harmony, why democratic philosophy is transformative, how to build resilience against absolutism and extremism, how trauma and power-seeking are related, and even more…

ALCHEMY OF THE SOUL STUDY GROUP
7:30 - 9 P.M. WED. JAN. 14

YOU are invited to attend, listen, comment, share your work, and learn the metaphysical concepts and the symbolic language of the eternal archetypal world, which helps us to manifest the “Philosopher’s Stone”, the Holy Grail of the Alchemical Opus.

The “Great Work,” as it is called, involves an experiment on the self which gets projected onto a Lab Experiment. Following in C.G. Jung’s alchemical tradition, our lab experiments involve our Art projects, Writing projects, Dream Explorations, and other soulful expressions. Sharing our Creative Expressions is an evolutionary instinct; it forms positive social bonds that foster spiritual development.

By cultivating our creativity, using our human faculties & our Hands-Heart-and Head we practice soul-making. Soul and spirit become intimately entwined to produce the conjunctio - the Sacred Marriage, a primary goal of the Alchemical Opus.

Every other Wednesday Frankin LaVoie offers practical, pleasurable insights and inspiration for cultivating Soul to enhance your life and contribute to humanity. In real ways, immortality can be achieved. Every other Wednesday evening, people gather on-line to discuss Alchemy, an advanced Spiritual Science for Soul Making. "Creativity is Healing" is the maxim of our alchemical hypothesis.

For each workshop, a $7 donation is gratefully accepted on our website: www.jungbuffalo.org, more if you can, to help pay for Jung Center Buffalo’s ongoing space rental at 371 Delaware Avenue and to show gratitude for our presenters' time and expertise.

THE INNER COSMOS MEETS THE OUTER COSMOS
with Richard and Becca Tarnas

Dear Friend of Jung,
You’ll want to join us this week (on zoom) Dec 5th and 6th when renowned Jungian astrologers Richard Tarnas and Becca Tarnas explain the archetypal dynamics of the individual psyche and of the collective psyche seen in our culture today.

At the Friday Talk, Inner Cosmos meets the Outer Cosmos, Richard and Becca Tarnas discuss the transformation of 20th-century astrology under the impact of Jung’s work, the importance of archetypes and the concept of synchronicity to astrological understanding. They also present a concise, nuanced description of each of the great archetypal principles associated with the Sun, Moon, and planets, and the extraordinary mutual enrichment that depth psychology and archetypal astrology provide for each other.
The three ‘classical’ modern planets—Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto, discovered by telescope in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries respectively—are each associated with archetypal principles and powers of fundamental importance for understanding human life. Called by Dane Rudhyar “ambassadors of the galaxy”, they are especially essential for understanding both the underlying dynamics of the collective psyche, as visible in cultural and historical events and trends, and the deeper psychological and spiritual dimensions of our individual lives. In the Saturday workshop, Richard and Becca Tarnas share their insights into these powerful archetypal principles informing both our collective evolution and our personal journeys of individuation. Numerous examples from history and the arts will be presented.

Please note: this weekend will be held ONLY as live-streaming via Zoom.

"MABEL"

“Every woman (and man) should hear the story of Mabel and the New Woman. It’s the essential history that liberated women and created our modern society. It’s most important and we can’t do without it. Don’t miss it!” - Ted Bickford
