Our next Faces of C+FS feature highlights Athena Pasiak, Nurse Case Manager for the Foster Care and Adoption Program!
Athena brings more than 15 years of nursing experience to C+FS. Throughout her career, she has served in a wide range of roles, including school nursing, primary care, bedside nursing, faith community nursing, care coordination and administrative leadership. Since 2017, Athena has dedicated her work to child welfare nursing, advocating children in foster care.
In her current role as Nurse Case Manager, Athena works closely with the Foster Care and Adoption treatment team to support “whole person” health for every child served. She partners with families and providers to ensure children receive comprehensive care, including primary and preventative health, dental services, mental and behavioral health support and specialty care across a wide range of medical disciplines.
In her time at C+FS, Athena is especially proud to be helping build and shape the health services component of the Foster Care & Adoption Program. She sees this work as the foundation of something meaningful—both for families today and for the future of the program.
When asked why she chooses to work at C+FS, Athena shared that the agency’s vision deeply aligns with her own commitment to creating healthier individuals, families and communities. She is driven by the belief that, together, we can restore dignity, promote safety and support permanency and wellbeing for children and families who have experienced trauma.
Thank you, Athena, for your dedication, compassion and advocacy for the children and families we serve at C+FS!
