Child and Family Services has more than 30 programs and services throughout Western New York, including the Stanley G. Deeply rooted in Western New York's history since 1873, Child & Family Services is one of the largest family service agencies in the nation.

Our Leadership Development Program's seventh cohort recently graduated and earned their certificates for completing the four-week program.

In addition to C+FS and Stanley G. Falk employees, this cohort was open to employees from Crisis Services and CCNY, with the goal of sharing resources and developing leadership in the community.

Led by Directors and Senior Leaders, the program explores key topics such as Trauma Informed Care, Conflict Management, Performance Management and Risk Management. Beyond leadership development, it also encourages personal growth, helping participants better understand their own communication styles and strengths.

Our next Faces of C+FS feature highlights Makenzie Victor, High Fidelity Wraparound Supervisor!

Makenzie began her journey with Child and Family Services in 2021 as a Preventive Case Planner, where she quickly discovered her passion for helping others and making a difference in the lives of families.

In 2023, Makenzie was promoted to her current role as High Fidelity Wraparound Supervisor, where she oversees a dedicated team of care coordinators who support at-risk youth and their families.

As a supervisor, Makenzie provides guidance and professional development opportunities for her team, ensuring program fidelity and consistent support for both staff and families.

Throughout her time at C+FS, Makenzie has helped strengthen community partnerships that directly benefit families. One initiative she’s especially proud of is her collaboration with The Service Collaborative’s Beds for Buffalo program, through which she has organized donations of more than 80 complete bed sets for families served by Wraparound, Preventive, Foster Care and Residential programs.

"Makenzie fosters a culture of trust and accountability," shared Santana Swan, Preventive Services and Wraparound Manager. "Her impact is felt in every success we achieve in our Wraparound program."

When asked why she chooses to work at C+FS, Makenzie shared, “I value working for an agency where I am seen as more than just a number. I feel genuinely supported by my colleagues, and that makes growth feel encouraged and celebrated.”
