Over 140,000 of our Erie County neighbors who rely on SNAP to put food on the table are preparing to go without SNAP benefits this November, adding pressure to an already stressful holiday season.

This means that food pantries, like our local ones at Evergreen Health and Community Access Services of WNY, are getting ready to help our community combat a drastic rise in food insecurity.

Please consider making a donation to our local food pantries – every bit helps. Visit the link below to make a monetary donation, or drop off a delivery of shelf-stable foods (no refrigerated donations). Drop off donations to Evergreen’s food pantry on Wednesdays, 9-5, and donations to CAS’ food pantry on Fridays, 8:30-4:30.

Today we’re celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day in honor of the history, culture and contributions of Indigenous communities throughout the world, including the communities who are Indigenous to the Western New York region where we live and serve.

MOCHA’s downtown Buffalo location is in the territory of the Seneca Nation, a member of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, which is still home to the Haudenosaunee people today. We’re proud to serve LGBTQ+ individuals from communities of color, including our Indigenous community.

Our counselor, Asha, is here to help LGBTQ+ individuals of color build coping skills for life’s everyday challenges. Asha is available for in-person and virtual support.

Counseling is free (no insurance is needed) for individuals of color ages 13-29 who identify as men and/or were assigned at birth.
