Have you ever felt like you need more time at appointments? 15 minutes is simply not enough time to provide good, comprehensive care. The current insurance-based system does not allow for the development of a good doctor-patient relationship.

As a mom of 2, I have had to take time off work or arranged a babysitter countless times to make it to my medical appointments. Only to be seen for 10 minutes and feeling so rushed I forgot to ask important questions.

That's why when I created Bloom, I chose to use a model that would allow patients more time with me and allow for flexible scheduling, with in person and telemedicine appointments available.

Since opening, I have been able to see patients virtually and in clinic on their time whether it's before work or after bedtime.

March is Colorectal cancer awareness month.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States and third most commen type of cancer in America.

Current guidelines recommend starting regular cancer screening at the age of 45.

What can increase your risk?
• Age: risk increases above age 50
• family history: a family history of colorectal cancer increases your risk
• Genetic conditions: inherited genetic conditions such as Lynch syndrome, Familial Adenomatous Polyposis
•a high fat and low fiber diet
•smoking and alcohol consumption
•high consumption of right and processed meat

A few key warning signs of colorectal cancer
•persistent changes in bowel habits
•blood in stool
•unexplained weight loss
•persistent abdominal pain
