Let’s talk about lats (aka latissimus dorsi aka, more simply put, “back muscles”). Most of my new clients don’t realize it but the back muscles are actually part of your core! Think about it: all major core exercises depend heavily on the scapula and lats (planks, side planks, even something like a glute bridge should involve lat activation). So, a friendly reminder to include back specific exercises in your training program, working all angles of your back. Think row variations (e.g. bent over, TRX inverted, renegade different grips) and of course pulldown exercises such as pull ups or cable work (just to name a few!!)
