Dear friends and supporters,

After careful reflection, the Board of Directors of the LGBTQ Awareness Group of Arizona (DBA Bullhead Pride) has made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization by the end of November 2025.

This decision was not made lightly. Over the past five years, we have been honored to serve, celebrate, and support the LGBTQ+ community of Bullhead City and the surrounding areas. Your encouragement, participation, and love have meant so much to us, and we are forever grateful to have shared this journey with you. 💖

As part of this process, all outstanding obligations will be settled, and any remaining assets will be donated to the Bullhead City chapter of PFLAG to help continue supporting our local LGBTQ+ family.

Please note that the Pride Line, all Facebook groups, Instagram account, website, and emails will be shut down by the end of November 2025.

Though Bullhead Pride is coming to a close, the spirit of Pride and community remains strong. We encourage everyone to stay connected with other local organizations continuing this important work:

🌈✨ THANK YOU FOR 5 AMAZING YEARS OF PRIDE! ✨🌈

Dear friends, neighbors, and supporters,

At today’s Board of Directors meeting, the Board of the LGBTQ Awareness Group of Arizona (DBA Bullhead Pride) came together to have a heartfelt discussion about the future of our organization.

Those in attendance were:
💜 Nathan Cox – President
💜 Doug Landreth – Vice President
💜 Louie Fernandez – Secretary
💜 Leslie Andrews – Board Member at Large
💜 KC Mattson – Board Member at Large

After much reflection, discussion, and an official vote, the Board made the difficult decision to dissolve the organization by the end of November 2025. This decision was not made lightly, but comes after recognizing a lack of community engagement and support that has made it difficult to continue fulfilling our mission in the way we had hoped.

We also talked about how to handle the organization’s remaining assets once any outstanding debts are paid. Several ideas were discussed, and the majority voted to donate all remaining assets to the Bullhead City chapter of PFLAG, to help continue the important work they do for our local LGBTQ+ community.

Our Treasurer, Michael Cummins, joined the meeting just as we were about to adjourn, so he was unable to take part in the votes, but because we had a quorum, the majority vote stood.

Since 2020, Bullhead Pride has been honored to serve, celebrate, and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community of Bullhead City and the surrounding areas. For the past five years, we’ve been humbled by your love, support, and shared pride in who we are and who we can be together. 💖

As we move forward with closing our doors, please know that:
📞 The Pride Line is now shut down.
💻 All Facebook groups, Instagram account, website, and emails will be closed by the end of this month (November 2025).

Even though Bullhead Pride is coming to an end, the spirit of Pride in our community lives on. We encourage you to stay connected and involved with other amazing local groups, including:

Join us for a heartfelt day of remembrance, hope, and healing as we walk together to raise awareness, break the stigma, and show support for su***de prevention in our community.

This event is for everyone – families, friends, survivors, allies, and especially those still fighting. No one walks alone, and support is here for all, including our LGBTQ+ community.

Gay Uncles Day is being observed on Sunday, August 10, 2025, as it falls on the second Sunday in August. Also known as Guncles Day, this holiday celebrates and acknowledges the important role that gay uncles, aunts, and other LGBTQ+ relatives play in their families, providing support, joy, and a unique perspective for nieces and nephews.

Mohave Community College Announces Adult Learner Restart Scholarship
MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College (Mohave College beginning August 2025) has a new scholarship available for adult learners. The Adult Learner Restart Scholarship, a $500 financial award aimed at helping adult students overcome common barriers to accessing higher education.
This scholarship is designed for adult learners who are either returning to college after a gap of one year or more or starting college for the first time. It’s part the College’s ongoing commitment to improving lives and communities by expanding educational access to non-traditional students.
Application Period:
July 1 – August 1, 2025
Recipient Notification Date: August 11, 2025
Eligibility Requirements:
Must be 25 years of age or older
Must be returning to college after a gap of at least one year OR starting college for the first time
Must be enrolled at Mohave Community College for the upcoming semester
The scholarship is designed to help alleviate common barriers to accessing higher education like purchasing a laptop, covering childcare expenses, or securing reliable transportation, so students can focus on achieving their academic and career goals.
Eligible students are encouraged to apply by scanning the QR code available on the scholarship flyer or by filling out the form at https://forms.office.com/r/BFwvnfbvPB.
The College has many degree and certificate options to help students meet their education and career goals. People are able to browse the Academic, Healthcare and Career & Technical Education programs online at www.Mohave.edu/Degrees.
The fall semester is just around the corner with classes beginning Aug. 18. Those interested in learning more about becoming a student should visit Mohave.edu/Admission. Fill out the online form to create a student account, and a College representative will be in touch to assist with the application, tuition assistance and enrollment process.
