This week marked one year since we lost our dear friend and coworker, Stacy Reed Laborde, who faithfully served Bunkie General Hospital for 30 years as our Pharmacy Director. On Monday, we gathered together to honor her memory during a special memorial service and to dedicate a beautiful new cross in her name in our chapel.
This cross holds deep meaning for our hospital family. It was hand-crafted from the wood of the large oak tree that once stood near our Emergency Department, a tree that provided shade, comfort, and familiarity to so many over the years. Though the tree had to be removed to make way for the addition of our new ED, its wood has now been transformed into something lasting and meaningful, a symbol of faith, remembrance, and hope.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ducman Wood Products for the time, care, and craftsmanship poured into creating this special cross, and to Laurie Ducote, HIM Manager, for the heartfelt idea that made this tribute possible.
Stacyโs memory continues to live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor her life in such a meaningful way. โค๏ธ
