My name is Kurt Winpegler I am an Army Veteran that started the Fire Service since 2003. I started as a volunteer and was hired at Fort Bragg Fire and Emergency Services in 2008. I was assigned to oversee the Annual Service Testing for Fort Bragg in 2014. I have since improved and simplified our testing operation. I test and manage annual service testing documentation on 16 pieces of equipment. I have also refined our testing procedures at my volunteer fire department by using drop tanks and recirculating water rather than using a pond and having to deal with back flushing and clean up. I conduct service testing from a drop tank and recirculate water, testing can be conducted any where there is a water supply or a water shuttle. In January of 2021 I started my company Firehawk Service Testing, LLC. I have always enjoyed operating and pumping Fire Trucks and taking pride in making sure our trucks are ready for the next “BIG ONE”. So this summer we bought a bigger trailer that was more user friendly and has been a great upgrade. We had planned to not use or sell the smaller one until today. We have been blessed with some great customers and keep growing. Today I realize that the small trailer will still be handy for some of our further customers.

Fun fact as we tested 3 truck the other day I had to crunch some numbers. If my calculations are correct we flowed approximately 175,810 gallons of water. The cool thing about how we test is that we only put 6,300 gallons on the ground. The reason we had to do that is when recycling the water, it heats up and we have to change it out with cooler water so we don't over heat the pump.

What a gorgeous day to be outside! So why not flow some water.
Excited today, and those of you that know me know that don't happen often. But today we are using our new to us trailer for the first time, and let me tell you it makes things so much easier. Also excited for a new customer. Wagram FD/North Scotland.
