Preparing your body now leads to smoother conception later.

Most people start supporting their fertility only once they’re actively TTC — but your hormones, cycle, and nervous system regulate best before the trying begins.

When the body is stressed, depleted, inflamed, or running on low reserves, cycles become less predictable. Ovulation may shift, progesterone may drop sooner, and PMS or symptoms can intensify. These aren’t failures — they’re signs your system needs support.

Here are simple ways to prepare your body ahead of time:
• Regulate stress and sleep to support clear hormone signaling.
• Balance blood sugar to stabilize ovulation, energy, and inflammation.
• Improve circulation and warmth, especially in colder months.
• Address early symptoms like PMS shifts, spotting, thyroid patterns, or cycle changes.
• Add acupuncture to support parasympathetic activity, pelvic blood flow, and hormone communication.

Research suggests acupuncture may help reduce stress hormones, improve reproductive blood flow, and support hormone regulation — important foundations for conception.

If you’re planning to try in the coming months, now is the right time to prepare.

Office Win of the Week

After a difficult first retrieval with elevated FSH and limited egg development, this patient chose to add acupuncture to her fertility plan. Eight sessions later, her labs showed meaningful improvement, with lower FSH and a doubled follicle count going into her next cycle.

This is why we focus on preparation. Supporting the body before retrieval can make a real difference in ovarian response and overall outcomes.

If you are preparing for an upcoming retrieval, now is the time to start your acupuncture plan.

Struggling with fertility? Here’s why your cycle signs matter more than you think.

Your menstrual cycle is one of your most accurate hormonal indicators — and it often reveals fertility challenges months before bloodwork does.

Irregular timing, short or long cycles, spotting, painful periods, or worsening PMS aren’t “just part of being a woman.”
They are early signs of how your hormones, thyroid, nervous system, and ovarian function are communicating.

In Chinese Medicine, cycle changes reflect deeper patterns like Liver Qi stagnation, Blood deficiency, or Spleen Qi depletion — all of which influence ovulation, implantation, and reproductive health.

Your cycle is talking. And when you understand what it’s saying, you can support your body more effectively.

If you’ve been feeling lost in your TTC journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Stress & Acupuncture: Why Stress Reduction Is Fertility Support
Stress is one of the most overlooked factors in fertility.
When the body is under chronic tension, the brain shifts into protective mode — and reproductive hormones can’t communicate the way they’re meant to.
Stress can:
• Delay or disrupt ovulation
• Shorten the luteal phase
• Worsen PMS or cramps
• Affect blood flow to reproductive organs
• Increase inflammation
• Make cycles unpredictable
This isn’t “in your head.”
It’s physiology.
Acupuncture is commonly used to support the parasympathetic nervous system, lower stress hormones, and improve circulation — all of which help regulate menstrual and fertility-related hormone patterns.
Supporting stress is supporting fertility.
If stress has been part of your TTC story, we’re here to help you create a calmer, more regulated environment for conception.

Acuterm of the Day: Shen

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shen refers to the spirit or mind, your emotional landscape, clarity, and inner calm.

When your Shen is balanced, you feel grounded, peaceful, and connected. When it’s disturbed, you may experience anxiety, insomnia, restlessness, or emotional overwhelm.

In clinic, we often use acupuncture, herbs, and breathwork to calm the Shen, helping patients move from chaos to clarity.

In a sentence:
“We focused this session on calming the Shen to ease anxiety and improve sleep.”
Caring for your Shen is caring for your whole being.

Follow for more Acuterms, wellness insights, and TCM tips to support your fertility and emotional health.
