Nigeria, Egypt, South Africa and Kenya remain Africa’s “big four” from a funding perspective in the number of African startups securing investment, securing a greater share of total funding between them than in 2020, yet Nigeria soared past all other countries to take top spot, with 161 startups raising a huge combined total of more than US$900 million.

Under AB 133, the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) will convene a Health Equity
and Quality Committee that will make recommendations to the DMHC regarding standard health
equity and quality measures. These measures will include annual benchmark standards for
assessing equity and quality in health care delivery in California. Furthermore, healthcare service
plans would be required to annually report equity and quality data and information to the DMHC.
