I’m a doctor, but I’m also a patient. And I know how hard it is to push back and ask for a second opinion when you’re not feeling heard.

But please please please, Listen to your intuition. If something feels off with a practitioner, get a second opinion if you can. You got this 💖

🏈 The Super Bowl may be over, but cold & flu season is still going strong. Here’s one of my favorite ways to support my immune system 👇🏽

Immune-Supporting Oxymel:

INGREDIENTS:
• 1–2 inches fresh ginger, thinly sliced
• 2–3 cloves garlic, lightly crushed
• 1–2 teaspoons fennel seeds, lightly crushed
• 3–5 whole cloves
• 1–2 tablespoons dried lemongrass
• A small handful of fresh mint leaves, gently bruised
• Raw apple cider vinegar (ACV)
• Raw honey, to taste (typically equal parts with vinegar)

INSTRUCTIONS:

✨Option 1: Traditional Cold-Steep Method
1. Place ginger, garlic, fennel, cloves, lemongrass, and mint into a clean glass jar, filling it about halfway.
2. Pour ACV over the herbs until fully submerged. Stir to release any air bubbles.
3. Seal the jar and steep for 2–4 weeks in a cool, dark place, shaking gently every few days.
4. Strain out the herbs and measure the infused vinegar.
5. Stir in raw honey at a 1:1 ratio (or adjust to taste) until fully dissolved.
6. Store sealed in the fridge or a cool pantry.

✨Option 2: Quick Stovetop Method (seen in video)
1. Add ginger, garlic, fennel, cloves, and dried lemongrass to a saucepan
2. Pour in enough ACV to fully cover the herbs.
3. Bring to a very gentle simmer (do not boil), then lower heat and simmer 20–30 minutes, uncovered.
4. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly, then add the mint leaves and steep for 10–15 minutes more.
5. Strain the liquid and let it cool to room temperature.
6. Stir in raw honey at a 1:1 ratio (or to taste).
7. Transfer to a glass jar and store in the fridge.

HOW TO USE:
• Take 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon daily, straight or diluted in warm water
• Use as a digestive and immune-supportive tonic or even a flavorful salad dressing base

👩🏽‍⚕️ Remember, always talk with your doctor before trying any new herbal remedies.

Anxiety check: have you had water today?

Dehydration can make anxiety symptoms feel louder. Think headaches, fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, and a racing heart. Staying hydrated helps support your nervous system, energy levels, and overall mood 🤍

No, water won’t “cure” anxiety, but it can help your body feel safer and more regulated. And the studies even show that it makes a difference.

Gentle reminder to sip, not judge yourself, and take care of your body today 💧✨

Menstrual cycle ≠ menstrual period 🩸✨
Let’s clear this up (because they’re NOT the same):

Your menstrual cycle is the entire monthly process: hormones shifting, ovulation, uterine lining building, and then shedding.

Your menstrual period is just one phase of that cycle; the days you’re actually bleeding.

What’s considered normal? 👇

🔁 Cycle length:
• Typically 21–35 days for adults
• Teens can have longer or more irregular cycles (totally normal early on)
• Your cycle length is counted from Day 1 of your period to Day 1 of your next period

🩸 Period length:
• Usually 3–7 days
• Flow can vary from light, medium, or heavy; If you’re having to change your pad every hour, talk to your doctor about this!
• A period shorter than 3 days or longer than 7–8 days consistently is worth checking in on

So if you’ve been saying “my cycle is 5 days”… nope 😅
That’s your period. Your cycle is the whole month-long rhythm.

Knowing what’s normal for your body = better tracking, better conversations with doctors, and better overall hormone health 💪🏽✨

My Story

Hello and welcome! My patients call me Dr. Anjali. I'm a Naturopathic Doctor and founder of Mantra Natural Medicine, my private practice based out of Los Angeles. My mission is to guide and support women who are struggling with Anxiety, Digestive Disorders, Hormone Imbalances and Skin Concerns to understand and heal the root cause of their symptoms. I use targeted, natural and gentle treatments to help my patients feel their very best.

I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Dance, and graduated with honors, from Ursinus College. After college, I trained as a Medical Assistant under the guidance of Dr. Soram Khalsa in his Integrative Medical Clinic in Beverly Hills. It was there where I first witnessed Eastern and Western medicine being combined beautifully to heal patients and help them to stay well.

I was drawn to Naturopathic Medicine because it gave me the tools to truly understand and heal my body. Throughout much of my adolescence and early adulthood, my struggle with anxiety, panic attacks and irregular cycles led me to numerous doctors who put me on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety medications and the birth control pill. It wasn't until I found a Naturopathic Doctor, who really listened to me and supported me, that I was able to come off of the medications, understand the underlying causes of my symptoms, and learn how to heal myself.

I chose Bastyr University, a prestigious, 4-year, Naturopathic Medical School in San Diego, and earned my Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. I continued my training in Women's Health, Digestive Health, Detoxification and Ayurveda at renowned clinics throughout California, including the Chopra Center in San Diego.
