Our recent Blind Scent Test showed just how surprising and powerful our senses are! Residents enjoyed identifying familiar scents hidden in cups—some instantly recognizable, others challenging to name. Once the reveal happened, everything clicked! 😊 This fun activity highlighted the close connection between sight and smell, sparking laughter, memories, and engaging conversations. It’s amazing how simple experiences can bring joy and connection.

We celebrated Lunar New Year at Merrill Gardens at Renton Centre and it was a vibrant experience! 🐉 The energetic dragon dance and traditional drumming brought the community together, honoring a meaningful cultural tradition. Thank you to the MG team in Renton for hosting such a warm and festive event. We love connecting with our neighbors and celebrating special moments together! 🌟

We turned blank canvases into winter works of art! ❄️ We started with a fresh canvas and painted our backgrounds, blending cool winter colors to set the scene. After everything dried, we carefully used sparkle Mod Podge to add glittery snowflakes on top—each one a little different and uniquely beautiful. The sparkle against the painted backgrounds was the perfect finishing touch. The end results were absolutely beautiful, and everyone was so proud of their creations!

Our community showcased the spirit of love with sweet shark-themed gestures for Valentine’s Day! 💖🦈 Residents enjoyed the thoughtful surprises and festive fun.

We enjoyed a great afternoon out this week, starting with lunch at Oddfellas Irish Pub. Good food and a fun, relaxed atmosphere! From there, we took a scenic drive to Enumclaw to explore Sweet Peas Mercantile. The shop was full of unique gifts and gourmet foods — the kind of place where it’s easy to lose track of time browsing. We were greeted by Sweet Pea, the resident golden retriever! 🐶 She made fast friends with everyone and seemed more than ready to hop on the bus with us. A special thank you to the owner for the warm welcome and the invitation to come back anytime — especially during cherry season. 🍒 We will definitely take you up on that!

Amy, our friendly volunteer Mary Kay consultant, stopped by this week and turned the afternoon into a Lipstick Lounge. 💄 Residents had the chance to try on a variety of new shades, compare colors, and get a little one-on-one guidance from Amy. There were lots of opinions and a few surprise favorites! Thank you, Amy, for sharing your time and expertise with us. It’s always fun to mix things up and add a little color to the day.

Our hearts are so full! ❤️ Local students from Three Tree Montessori School and St. Francis of Assisi School visited to deliver handmade Valentine cards to our residents. Such a thoughtful visit from our community neighbors. A huge thank you to the students and team members for spreading kindness and joy. ❤️😊
