“It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you don’t stop,” ~Confucius

It can be overwhelming to know you’ve got a lot of weight to lose, and it will be a long, challenging journey. Avoid comparing yourself to others, especially if it appears they’ve achieved their goal with little effort. Looks can be deceiving. All change takes effort, sometimes a lot of effort. Instead, focus on and find the power and stick-to-it-ness in your WHY. You can always keep doing what you’ve been doing with little effort, right? If you’re on a weight loss journey, you’ve got a reason. Keep that to the forefront of all your efforts.

Hypnosis will help you make these efforts and changes easier and more enjoyable. Curious? Ask me about the Empowered Women’s Weight Loss groups.

WHAT CAUSES ANXITY? (CONTINUED)

Ongoing stressful life events

Anxiety conditions may develop and worsen because of one or more ongoing stressful life events. Such as:

👉painful or destructive personal and family relationships
👉financial difficulty
👉stress from school
👉work stress or job change
👉change in living arrangements
👉pregnancy and giving birth
👉major emotional shock following a stressful or traumatic event
👉verbal, sexual, physical or emotional abuse or trauma
👉death or loss of a loved one
👉ongoing negative self-talk

Help for Anxiety

Whenever you worry about what could go wrong, remember another time in your life when you thought things would go wrong, but in fact, they didn’t.

Think of a time (big or small) when you managed a challenging situation and things worked out, and everything was fine.
Then think of more of these times until you have a library of events you will think about and remember when life gets challenging.

More tomorrow…

“No amount of anxiety can change the future. No amount of regret can change the past.”~ Karen Salmansoh

ANXIETY CAUSES
As a hypnotherapist and coach who sees clients the most for anxiety, I get asked this question a lot. People are anxious about the answer and fear they are somehow creating their anxiety.

There’s no hardcore evidence for what causes anxiety, but there are many contributors, according to researchers. And, rather than being caused by one thing, it’s likely a combination of factors plays a role.

It’s good to know that there is ongoing research and help to find effective remedies. Because the more we understand anxiety, the better equipped we are to eliminate self-blame, shame, and negative self-talk and seek the help that brings us relief.
✅Personality Factors
People with certain personality traits may be more prone to feelings of anxiety, according to research. For example, children who need to have everything just right or perfect, those who are easily flustered, timid, inhibited, lack self-esteem, or want to control everything, sometimes develop anxiety during childhood, adolescence, or as adults. These traits are also often seen in many of the highly sensitive, empathic people I’ve seen in my practice who suffer from anxiety.
✅Traumatic Events & Brain Chemistry
Stressful or traumatic childhood experiences can alter our brain chemistry. These events can cause a daily state of hypervigilance, excess amounts of cortisol and anxiety.
One of my clients experienced this daily anxiety with no apparent reason. She had a loving family, a great job, colleagues, and took great care of herself. During hypnotherapy sessions, we discovered an event when she was three years old. In the middle of the night, with lights flashing, police entered her home, handcuffed her dad and took him to jail. No one explained this event to her. And so her young mind determined that she needed to be on high alert all the time because at any time something terrible and scary can happen. Once discovered, she healed these experience with hypnotherapy and released her daily experience of anxiety.
If you suffer from chronic anxiety and stress, seek help. Relief may be easier than you can imagine, especially with hypnotherapy. DM for a strategy session and free recording.

HOPE

“If you only carry one thing throughout your entire life, let it be hope. Let it be hope that better things are always ahead. Let it be hope that you can get through even the toughest of times. Let it be hope that you are stronger than any challenge that comes your way. Let it be hope that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now, and that you are on the path to where you are meant to be… Because during these times, hope will be the very thing that carries you through.” ~ Nikki Banas.

ANXIETY-PANIC ATTACKS

Experiencing an anxiety attack, often referred to as a panic attack, can feel devastating. The attack will be very intense and may or may not have an apparent trigger associated with it. Anxiety attacks are sometimes mistaken for a more severe health problem, such as an inability to breathe or having a heart attack.

Many people with anxiety have an acute sense of awareness, which becomes amplified. They could be sitting quietly and then suddenly become aware of their breathing. They then focus on their breathing pattern and start to wonder and worry if they are breathing correctly. This focus can change and challenge their breathing pattern as their awareness of it increases. This recurring pattern escalates until they are now in the middle of an anxiety attack.

While a large portion of sufferers will have an anxiety attack without warning, some people have recognizable triggers for their attacks. However, the downside of potential triggers is that the perceived trigger may not be the real cause of an attack. More on triggers tomorrow. But today, begin to practice slowing your breathing down.
