It can be hard to watch someone we care about endure something as difficult and violating as stalking. We can feel powerless sitting by watching this happen, but there are a few ways we can help support our loved ones. We cannot control what the stalker does, but we can control how we show up for the survivor.
The number one thing we can do is be there to listen. Everyone is different, so all of these things may not apply to every survivor, but this is a good place to start. You can ask the survivor what they need, or offer specific things you can do to support them, such as staying over or running their errands.
If you are a survivor, are there any other tips you have to share with those who want to be there for survivors, but aren't sure how?
