What is VAGINAL ATROPHY?
Vaginal atrophy defines the changes in the vaginal tissue after years of low or no estrogen - something that can start to happen in your 40s, and gets more severe as you age. What symptoms can VAGINAL ATROPHY cause?
- Dryness and itching (External and internal)
- Dryness and pain with in*******se, a “tearing sensation” with in*******se, narrowing of the vaginal canal and opening
- New onset urinary tract infections
My favorite way of attending to these symptoms is vaginal estrogen cream, which is very safe, even in breast cancer survivors! Research abstract below to show safety.
