❄️ Weather Closure Update ❄️
Due to continued winter weather conditions, our clinic will be closed on Wednesday (01/28/26). Telehealth appointments will still be conducted as scheduled for families who are able to participate.

We truly miss seeing our kiddos and families in person and can’t wait to be back together in the clinic as soon as it’s safe to do so.💜

Food coloring is a great tool to turn the ice and snow outside into beautiful works of art! But you have to do it soon before the ice melts 🙃.💜

Mix a few drops (with gloved hands) into the soft powder snow or drop the colors straight to the ice for drawing and painting!💙

Due to ongoing winter weather and continued road conditions clearing, our clinic will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday-1/27/26) for in-person visits.

✅ Telehealth appointments will still be conducted as scheduled for families who are able to participate.

Looking for some new ways to keep your children entertained in the ice/snow outside? Try chalk! ❄️

Due to the frigid temperatures and our area mostly getting ice and sleet, the ground is the perfect place for chalk! Make it educational by writing letters, shapes, and words. You could also try step-by-step videos to create more detailed drawings! Just make sure you’re bundled up and have gloves on to stay safe and cozy!💜💙

Speech therapy can be FUN—and today’s session proved it!🏎️
We used a car track to target early language skills along with VC, CV, and CVC word structures. Using play-based activities like this helps kids stay engaged while practicing important speech sounds and expanding their expressive language.

Some of the words we worked on:�• VC: up, in, on�• CV: go�• CVC: beep, boom, wow

The track became the perfect motivator for turn-taking, requesting, labeling actions, and building simple phrases. When therapy feels like play, kids make big gains without even realizing they’re “working.”

If you’ve ever observed your child’s therapy session, you’ve probably seen a variety of different games used. Games are always fun, but did you know the therapist is also addressing a variety of therapeutic skills within the game, too? During this game of Yeti in my Spaghetti, the following skills were being utilized:

💜Fine motor skills required to grab each noodle
💙Turn taking
💜Problem solving skills required to pick the correct noodle
💙Understanding spatial concepts (top, bottom, under, over, etc)
💜Social skills addressing winning versus losing
💙Targeting articulation words

From working on fine motor skills while picking up kernels, to sequencing and following directions (“pop, shake, eat!”), and even feeding therapy through exploring new textures and smells, popcorn can pack a powerful punch in play-based therapy.
