We are thrilled to share the next chapter in the evolution of SAVU and Vermont Sauna Culture. After more than three years and 10,000 sauna sessions, we’re bringing a bold, new vision to life.

Next month we will start construction on an 8,000 sq ft. bathhouse.

What began as a simple belief- that sweat heals, ritual matters, and gathering changes people- has grown into something far beyond what we imagined. You showed up. You kept coming back. You trusted the experience. And together, we built a community around heat, steam, and connection.

Our permits are approved, the space is ready, and we are prepared to begin construction. This is not a passing trend or speculative idea. It’s a real, tangible community asset, built on a foundation of 4 years operating here in Vermont. Your support will help turn this vision into a place we can all gather, heal, and celebrate for decades to come.

To mark this milestone and open the process, we’re hosting an open house on Thursday, 2/26 from 4–8pm at 208 Flynn Ave. Come see the space, explore the plans, ask questions, and learn how you can support and participate in bringing this bathhouse to life.

We’re so excited to welcome you in, to share what’s coming, and to build the future of sauna culture in Vermont together.

Sometimes we get so caught up in what’s next that we forget to pause and really feel what’s already here.

2025 gave us you.
The early mornings. The cold water. The deep breaths. The conversations in the changing rooms. The quiet moments after heat. The trust you place in us with your bodies, your nervous systems, your stories.

This community has shaped SAVU as much as we’ve shaped it. What started as a simple idea has become something deeply human… a place to reset, to connect, to remember ourselves.

As we look toward 2026, we carry so much gratitude for every person who has walked through our doors, shared their experience, and helped build this together. We’re just getting started… and we’re honored to keep growing alongside you.

Most people think of saunas as a luxury spa thing, but you’re making it accessible and affordable - what’s the biggest misconception about sauna use you’re trying to change?

“The biggest misconception is that sauna is a luxury rather than a necessity. In many cultures, sauna has always been a communal, everyday practice—an essential part of health and well-being, not just an occasional spa treat. We’re working to shift the mindset from “this is something I do on vacation” to “this is something I do as part of my lifestyle.” Sauna is one of the most time-tested wellness practices, with proven benefits for physical recovery, mental clarity, and overall resilience. Our goal is to make it as accessible as going to a yoga class or grabbing a cup of coffee—something people integrate into their routine, not just an indulgence.”
