Social belonging, peer status, and popularity all play major roles in shaping behavior during adolescence.
While all teens are exposed to va**ng to some degree, not all are equally vulnerable. Research shows that popularity, or the desire to be perceived as popular, can significantly increase the likelihood that a teen will experiment with or continue using e-cigarettes.
What parents and educators can do:
