Whoa. Susan in her, “I mean business pose.” It’s not an I mean business like most business owners though. It’s that moment when she is literally on your level, saying it straight to you. My guess is it might be something along the lines of:
✨“You need to learn how to relax your pelvic floor in order for a baby to pass through it”
✨“You can’t muscle your way through birth. We want to be strong, but we also need to check in with our nervous system and be able to freaking let go.”
✨“Core work during pregnancy looks really different. It doesn’t mean we don’t do it, but we have to change what it looks like and understand why.”
✨“The way you move during pregnancy directly connects to the space you have available during birth.”
✨“Man I love you guys and also, F*** ICE.”

For y’all who have been to Susan’s class, either a few or a few hundred, I’m curious, what do you think she’s saying here?!👇

If added to your long list of to dos is making Valentine’s so your toddler who can’t read or write can participate, text your friend from GROW and have a craft party.

Village parenting is just more fun.🎨🫟

And if your the parent who forgot valentines this year, been there, and the other 1 year olds won’t remember so let that guilt go 😘

It’s not a coincidence that multiple people messaged us this weekend about doing more winter activities outside with our babies + community. Gone are the days where being a mom means sacrificing everything for our kids and losing our identity. Instead we want to keep doing the things that bring us joy with other people who are right there with us. We might talk about sleep, or mental load, but we are still cool and do cool things, too.

We are creating something we are really excited about. It’s more of this, more moms + families doing funnnn things with other moms + families who want to do fun things. We can’t wait to share more soon and we can’t wait for you to join us 💚

You’ve heard us say before that we have strong, evidence-based opinions. Well, we also have strong empathy- and compassion-based opinions.

We pride ourselves on being a birth community that truly believes there is no hierarchy when it comes to how we birth our babies, feed our babies, or parent our babies—as long as it is safe and you feel supported. Which is why, as our community and our country are feeling anything but safe and supported by what ICE and our government are doing, we felt we had to do something.

Last weekend, we turned our studio into a place where you knew our political stance, you knew what we want our government to do, and you showed up—in large numbers—to show us that you, too, have had enough. Whether you called your senators, made donations, protested in the streets, or helped a neighbor, we thank you for joining us and making your strong opinions heard.

We know the work is far from over in helping to make our community and country feel safe for everyone, and we will continue to show up, in small ways & large, on social media and mostly off of it, to do our part.

Our Thursday Strength & Conditioning class at 10:00 now has a baby bouncer 🥰🥰

Out baby bouncers are volunteers who help you get in more yoga or fitness. They also happen to be baby whisperers 🙌✨

It’s coming up in our checks ins, it’s living in our nervous systems, it’s breaking our hearts wide open. We all want to do so much and we also feel at a loss for how to help and want to do more.

Tomorrow we are participating in the shut down by opening up our studio to everyone, for free, to be in community.

If you want to make a donation to support VT immigrant and refugee families, we will be collecting donations to go to the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project. If you want to donate food, we will be collecting food donations as well to bring to families at USCRI. If you just want to show up and be in community, that is great too. All are welcome.
