There comes a moment on the spiritual path when we stop searching for God and begin to recognize that God is already in everything. Every breath, every person, every gust of wind, every challenge. These all are divine expressions of one infinite consciousness.
When we say “God is everything,” we are remembering that the sacred doesn’t live only in temples, rituals, or moments of prayer. God flows through every heartbeat, every grain of sand, and every cell of our being.
Yet within the spiritual community, there is often an imbalance. This tendency to cling only to “light-based living.” While light is beautiful and pure, when we reject the shadow, we reject half of God. The result becomes a kind of spiritual bypassing; a toxic positivity that denies the sacred wisdom within pain, death, anger, and darkness.
For a time, I too fell into the light thirst trap, the alluring belief that only love, peace, and positivity were reflections of spiritual truth. I tried to transcend pain instead of listening to it, to silence my darkness instead of honoring its wisdom. But in doing so I realized I was fragmenting myself. I was denying the parts of God that dwell in shadow. The light became a mask, not medicine. Only when I turned toward the parts I had rejected; the grief, the anger, the fear did I begin to understand that real divinity is not about escaping the dark, but walking through it with open eyes and an open heart.
True divinity holds both the radiant and the raw. God is not only in the sunrise, but also in the storm. Not just in love and peace, but also in destruction and rebirth. To embrace all aspects of creation is to return to wholeness. To see that even what we fear or judge is still Source, still love, still part of the eternal dance.
When we live this truth, compassion flows naturally. Judgment dissolves, life becomes a dance with radical acceptance for all that is. The cyclical flow of birth, life, and death. Embodiment of gratitude and love for all facets of it.
