There is growing pressure at the federal level to remove the regulatory barriers that are holding up oral fluid drug testingโdespite it being approved back in 2023.
Right now, the issue isnโt if oral fluid is comingโฆ itโs whatโs been delaying it.
๐๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐๐:
โ๏ธ No U.S. labs are currently certified due to FDA regulatory hurdles
โ๏ธ Employers still canโt utilize oral fluid testingโeven though itโs approved
โ๏ธ Urine test cheating is rising significantly, creating real safety concerns
โ๏ธ Oral fluid (and other observed methods) offer a more secure, modern solution
Federal leaders are now pushing for these barriers to be removed so programs can finally modernize and keep up with todayโs challenges.

When this opens up, companies that are already prepared will be able to implement immediatelyโwhile others will be scrambling to update policies and procedures.

โ๏ธ Review and update your drug & alcohol policy
โ๏ธ Consider adding oral fluid testing
โ๏ธ Put standing orders in place
