Seed Pose (Balasana):
Begin the sequence by inviting children to come into Seed Pose, also known as Child's Pose. Have them sit back on their heels, knees wide apart, and forehead resting on the mat. Encourage them to imagine themselves as tiny seeds nestled in the warm soil, ready to germinate and grow.
Sprout Pose (Tadasana Variation):
From Seed Pose, guide children to slowly rise up, stretching their arms overhead and lifting onto their tiptoes. They can sway gently from side to side, like sprouting seeds reaching towards the sun. This pose promotes balance, strength, and a sense of upward expansion.
Flower Pose (Tulip Pose):
Transition into Flower Pose by having children stand tall with their feet firmly planted on the ground. Encourage them to raise their arms overhead, stretching towards the sky like blooming flowers. They can sway gently in the breeze, feeling the warmth of the sun on their faces.
Blossom Pose (Camel Pose Variation):
Next, invite children to come onto their knees, placing their hands on their lower back for support. Encourage them to arch their backs gently, lifting their hearts towards the sky like blossoming flowers. This pose opens the chest, shoulders, and heart center, promoting a sense of expansion and vitality.
Butterfly Pose (Baddha Konasana):
Transition into Butterfly Pose by having children sit on the floor with the soles of their feet together, knees bent outward. Encourage them to gently flap their "wings" (arms) while taking deep breaths in and out. This pose symbolizes the delicate beauty of butterflies emerging from their cocoons.
Savasana (Final Relaxation):
Conclude the sequence with a few moments of relaxation in Savasana. Invite children to lie down comfortably on their mats, closing their eyes and letting go of any tension or stress. Encourage them to imagine themselves as fully bloomed flowers, basking in the warmth of the sun and swaying gently in the breeze.
