UVM Nerve Lab Neuroimaging studies of addictive behaviors

Volunteers needed for ni****ne study!

Earn $440 in 4 visits

18- to 50-year-old healthy smokers are needed to participate in a research study looking at differences in brain functioning while completing cognitive tasks. Eligible volunteers currently smoke more than 5 ci******es per day, and are somewhat interested in quitting.
This is a four visit study: Volunteers will be asked to 1) Complete an in-person screening visit to fill out questionnaires and determine eligibility 2) Complete two 2-hour MRI scanning sessions at the UVM Research Imaging Center at the UVM Medical Center, and 3) Potentially stop smoking for a few days, and 4) wear biofeedback sensors during the day for one week.
Individuals who are currently pregnant, taking psychotropic medication (ex: antidepressants, stimulants, sedatives), or using most recreational drugs are ineligible. Compensation is over $440 upon study completion.
