It’s not easy, but when we feel our feelings ~ all of them ~ we stop confusing avoidance with healing and make room for something more honest and whole. ❤️

I came across this image today and it made me pause.

“I wanted to cry. So I did.
And I was brave. And sad.”

I loved these books when I was a child, and somehow they keep finding their way back to me. This time, I was especially struck by how the original text was gently edited. What once framed bravery as holding back tears has been reshaped to hold a deeper honesty:

that crying and being brave can exist together.

What a gift to remember that bravery isn’t the absence of tears. Sometimes bravery is the tears… letting ourselves feel what is true instead of pushing it away.

Our understandings grow. What we need permission for changes over time. Sometimes we return to old stories with new eyes, adding language that makes room for the full complexity of being human.

In a world that often praises stoicism and strength, this feels like a permission slip ~ to be honest, tender, and fully human all at once.

Let's keep making room for that kind of courage. 💚

The world is heavy right now. Self-care isn’t about indulgence or escaping reality. It’s about tending our nervous systems and creating our own small, safe spaces where we’re allowed to feel what is true.

This little winter self-care calendar feels like a gentle reminder that small acts matter.

If you need permission to slow down… consider this your invitation. 💚

As many of you will know, there are a million opinions flying around and they're all a little different. One of the things that we have to do in a time like this is come to know what's true for us, “I've heard my friend's opinion, I've read that article, what feels true in my friend's opinion and in that article for me and what am I going to keep for myself? And what am I going to shake off? Because it's not actually my perspective or my way of feeling the world.” There's a lot of ‘shaking off’ needed at the moment. So if you aren't a physical person, you might want to get a little more physical this month.

It can be as simple as standing there and shaking your body just to move it - put some music on, move around the house, just let the body move what's coming through.
