Cool word that I learned today: skeuomorph or skeuomorphism. It’s when something new retains now unnecessary elements of the older thing, usually to increase understanding of how to use it. Like old electric lights looking like candle flames, the recycle icon on your computer to show where to delete files, rivets in jeans, or wood looking mechanical pencils.
