M.Y. Life Center M.Y. Life is a non-profit, non-denominational, non-political organization committed to serving women and families in our community.

Tri-County Pregnancy Center (TCPC) has been serving the Yancey-Mitchell-Avery community since 1994. We desire to provide all of our clients—women and men—with a positive experience in a safe, warm, compassionate setting. We have become a trusted community resource for clients and families because we care about you and your individual situation. Our team of specially trained staff and volunteers are prepared to help you with:

• An unplanned pregnancy

We offer free, medical quality pregnancy tests administered by clinically trained personnel. TCPC can provide you with honest answers to your questions and information about all options and resources available to you. (Medical staff are available at our center by appointment.)

• A past abortion

We offer a small-group study designed for women who have experienced regret after having an abortion. The study addresses such issues as loss, guilt, anger, depression, and forgiveness. The study is totally non-judgmental and confidential. You can feel safe knowing that nothing discussed within the group will be shared outside of the group.

• The loss of a baby

If you have suffered the loss of a baby, whether by miscarriage, stillbirth, or newborn death, you need to be given "permission to grieve." At TCPC , you will find those who have been where you are and can relate to the suffering caused by the death of a child.

• Your baby’s devastating diagnosis

Unexpected news at your ultrasound? Being told that something is wrong with your baby can be devastating. We offer free counseling and support for parents dealing with a life-limiting, even lethal diagnosis.

• For Men:

We realize that an unplanned pregnancy, as well as parenting in general, can be overwhelming for both the father and the mother. We’re here to answer questions and provide support for the guys, too! Our male volunteers are available to help you. We also offer group sessions in which men come together to strengthen one another through weekly workshops combining video teaching with small group discussion. These groups have been very popular with our male clients.

Imagine this with me… you think you might be pregnant, and you are scared out of your mind… maybe you are embarrassed to go to the store, or you can’t afford a test… maybe everything around you is closed, and you need to know NOW. You hear that we offer free at-home tests in a 24/7 dispenser at the Center…when you get to our building, you see the dispenser and the sign that says one box per person, per visit. You are super anxious, and feel like one test isn’t enough (most of us women never trust just one test , we want to be sure!) You grab two, maybe even three or four boxes. (By the way, each box has two tests in it for that very reason) Listen, we get it, and we aren’t trying to shame anyone, but imagine this scenario with me for a second….
You think you might be pregnant, and you are scared out of your mind… maybe you are embarrassed to go to the store, or you can’t afford a test… maybe everything around you is closed, and you need to know NOW. However, when you open the dispenser, it’s empty because the person before you grabbed more than one box.
At the Center, we try really hard to keep things stocked, but we can’t be there 24/7.
We need your help to make sure everyone gets what they need. Please consider that as scared as you are, the next woman behind you is scared as well.
