Celebrate Recovery at Glory Bound Fellowship is starting a new Step Study. Men's Step Study starts Sunday night at 6PM and Women's starts Monday night at 6PM. Both will be held at the Church at 3061 Highway 12 in Burson Ca.
Step Study books are available for purchase $25, scholarships may be available.
These are gender-based groups (not issue specific) that meet weekly to go through the four Celebrate Recovery participant guides which include the 12 steps and their biblical comparisons. These in-depth studies usually take 10-12 months to complete, and are where we truly begin to move forward in healing and freedom.

Chip night is the last Thursday of every month at CR at GBF. Join us tonight!
In recovery, it’s easy to focus on our failures.
However, our focus should be balanced with both the good and the bad.
If we look only at the negative parts of our past, we will distort our inventory and open ourselves to unnecessary pain. Lamentations 3:40 tells us, “Let us examine our ways and test them.” The verse doesn’t say, “just examine your bad, negative ways.” We need to honestly focus on the “pros” and the “cons” of our past!
Some people neglect to balance their inventory and get stuck in their recoveries. This could lead them to think recovery is too hard and too painful— causing them to stop their journey of recovery altogether—and slip back to their old hurts, hang-ups, and habits.

You can do this recovery by yourself, or you can ask God for his help.
Step 3 in Celebrate Recovery says:
We made a decision to turn our lives and our wills over to the care of God.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Romans 12:1 NIV
Give God a chance to help you today and you may be surprised how faithful He is.

There’s a reason the rear view mirror is so much smaller than the windshield. We should be aware of our past, but focus forward.

““But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬-‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Principle 3 - Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. “Happy are the meek.” Matthew 5:5a TEV
When you hand your life over to God, your become a new creation. Isn’t that great news!!!
“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Some of us feel noble holding in our anxiety… as if not sharing our struggle saves those around us.
Well, our great big God is ready to hold your anxiety for you. 1 Peter 5:7 says we can cast ALL our anxiety on God because he cares for us.
Hand ‘em over!

As long as you must be in full control, God cannot be the Lord of your life.
Control is a common characteristic of Codependency. Someone in recovery for codependency may have this fruit in their lives:
- Accept Jesus Christ as Higher Power.
- Working the 12 step recovery process diligently and consistently.
- Accepting and walking in the biblical truth that our identity and value are who we are in Christ, and not based on how others view us, what we do, or the service we perform.
- Learning to recognize and enforce healthy boundaries that accurately establish where we end and another person begins. Not allowing others to compromise those boundaries.
- Learning how to help others in suitable ways, without rescuing or fixing; allowing them to act independently, allowing them to own the results of their choices and behavior.
- Performing acts of service as a choice, not out of duty or for recognition and value from others. Serving with joy using God-given talents and abilities.
- Learning to live a balanced life where self-care and taking responsibility for our own health and well-being take priority over the addictive behavior and control of others.

It’s so easy to assume that because we didn’t get life perfect that our purpose is broken.
This is just not true. We were all made on purpose for a purpose… regardless of how good we’ve been able to hold it all together.
“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:15-17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Co-dependency is when a person’s need for approval or validation from another person allows them to be controlled or manipulated, or a person who attempts to manipulate or control someone. They are willing to compromise their own values, choices, and behavior at the expense of their personal well-being.
How We Find Recovery
