Myopia is worsening at an alarming rate. Unfortunately the old way of giving glasses or contacts and just allowing your child's eyesight to worsening isn't working. We can change this now! This is our focus in The Myopia Matters Club and we are making a difference for so many children in Western PA.

WHY MYOPIA MATTERS AND WHY WE NEED TO CHANGE!
Here is a photo I took this past Saturday at 3 pm. I had to go into the office to see an emergency patient. This person was highly nearsighted or myopic, had a history of a retinal detachment second to his myopia in one eye, now was having symptoms of a retinal detachment in the other. The whole time I was seeing this patient all I could think about was this doesn't need to be this way. If we treat kids and prevent them from becoming more myopic, they will have a lesser chance of suffering from these problems. We need to start now!
