Thanks Josh for last night's teaching!! What was your big takeaway?

Have you found your sponsor yet? If not, what's stopping you?

Getting to know the people in your share group is a great place to start in finding that right person. If you have questions, please send us a message or talk to any of the leaders on a Wednesday.

Last night your child learned that our lives get messy with sin when we let it take over and when we make wrong choices rather than turning to God with our problems. That they should accept Jesus’ gift of forgiveness when they sin.

Key verse: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5

Parents – Talk with your child about a time you turned around and went the other way – and the outcome. Encourage your child to share about a changed decision in their life – and the outcome. Commit to each other to turn around and go the other way this week if either of you are tempted to sin.

As our lessons continue, we move into Principle 4. Openly examine and confess my faults to myself, to God, and to someone I trust. "Happy are the pure in heart." Matthew 5:8

This is where we enter into the meat of our recovery journey and begin the process of inventory. What exactly is inventory? Well, we'll get to that in the coming weeks. In preparation for inventory, we need to work on building our accountability team. Who should we choose? How do we identify the right people? Why do we even need an accountability team?

Join us tonight as Josh brings us Lesson 7 - Sponsor.

FREE childcare and dinner at 6:30pm. Worship and large group at 7pm.

Tonight is lesson 11: Turnaround (Turn)

Key verse: “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5

This week your child will learn about trusting God. The more they get to know God, the more they’ll see that everything God says in the Bible is true. They will also learn what it means to repent: to turn and go the other way.

Palm Sunday represents the beginning of the final week of Jesus’ life. As the Savior returned to Jerusalem, the crowds recognized Him as their King:

“So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”” John 12:13

Jesus was, and still is, our King. He brought hope to an entire world through His suffering.

Thanks Nate for last night's teaching!! What was your big takeaway?

For me it's the O in our acrostic... One Day at a Time. It's a cheesy saying you will hear all the time at CR, but it's so true. You can't change what happened in the past and you have no control over what's going to happen in the future. The only thing you can do is focus on the right now and make the best decisions you can today.

Last night your child learned that trusting others can bring us peace at times; trusting God never fails. As well as the transformation that happens when we follow Jesus – similar to how a caterpillar becomes a butterfly.

Key verse: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Parents – Talk with your child about a time you felt overwhelmed. Explain how you’re learning to trust God for peace when situations feel overwhelming and even crushing. Ask if they feel overwhelmed and allow them to share with you.

Sometimes the things that have led us into our hurts, habits, and hang-ups is simply the inability to make a decision to do the right thing. Not because we don't know right and wrong, but because following the crowd is just easier than simply making a decision ourselves.

Principle three says that we "Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ's care and control." That means taking Action and making a decision.

Join us tonight as Nate brings us Lesson 6 - Action and helps us break the cycle of indecision and continue moving forward in our recoveries.

FREE childcare and dinner at 6:30pm. Worship and large group at 7pm.

Tonight is lesson 10: Peace (Sanity)

Key verse: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

This week your child will learn that we can’t feel better all by ourselves when life is overwhelming or gives us “crushing” disappointments. We’re powerless to change without believing in God and receiving His peace.

Is anyone else feeling like they’re struggling and hope is hard to come by? Doubt creeps in, triggers our character defects, and all of a sudden we find ourselves spiraling.

We need to remember that in the middle of the struggle, there is life stirring within us. God is always right there with us! When we’re faced with the impossible and it feels like we have nothing, we need to remember that God is all we need. He is in the business of making possible out of the impossible.

“’Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you.’” Jeremiah 32:17

Thanks Amy for last night's teaching!! What was your big takeaway?

Amy mentioned several roles we may take on based on our childhood family dysfunction. Which one of these do you see yourself in?
Hero or Rescuer.
Scapegoat or Rebel.
Lost Child.
Mascot or Clown.
Caretaker or Enabler.

Last night your child played a game where they had to dodge paper wads from all directions and how challenges are easier with help. They recognized positive traits about themselves and learned that God sees them and loves them just the way they are.

Key verse: Matthew 5:4

Parents – Tell your child about a place that’s peaceful for you. If you feel God’s presence in your peaceful place, describe that as well. Let your child share about their peaceful place. Then talk about how you let God help you when chaos surrounds you. Reassure your child they aren’t responsible for the chaos that may sometimes exist in your home life.
