The latest edition of Catholic Health World highlights our very own Dr. Carlos Albrecht, who travels to Peru twice yearly to provide essential cardiac care. Inspired by his mother’s treatment in Lima, he supplies pacemakers, defibrillators, and medical training to public hospitals lacking resources.

Dr. Albrecht’s story reminds us of the power of service, especially as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Like Dr. King, Dr. Albrecht acts with courage, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to justice, working to bridge disparities in healthcare both at home and abroad.

"I'm not a prophet. I'm not a preacher," Albrecht says. "But I have a moral north. And I tell my kids: Always keep your moral north. When you're blessed to have things, just give it to others."

‼️🚑 Crew Member Spotlight 🚑‼️

Join us in congratulating Medical Director Todd Mohr, on celebrating over 2 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Butte-Silver Bow!!!

Medical Director Mohr has played a crucial role in advancing the pre-hospital care that the citizens of Butte have come to expect! While you may not see him on the frontlines of EMS; his insight is what guides our providers day in, and day out.

Medical Director Mohr wears many hats. He serves as the Advanced Practice Director of Surgical & Acute Care Specialties for Intermountain Health, Peaks Region, an EMS Medical Director, and an astute educator.

Under his leadership we have established new, county wide, pre-hospital guidelines in collaboration with the Butte-Silver Bow Fire Department, expanded our pharmaceutical directory, improved our collaboration with St. James Hospital, and set the bar for pre-hospital excellence!!!

We are proud to call Todd part of our team!!! Congratulations & Thank You!!!🎉

Shorter days, colder weather, and busy schedules can take a toll on mental health. For some, it’s more than the “winter blues.” Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a form of depression that can affect mood, energy, sleep, and daily life.

Signs can look different for everyone—feeling low most of the day, losing interest in things you enjoy, changes in sleep or appetite, or struggling to get through everyday tasks. And these feelings can affect not just you, but the people around you.

The good news: SAD is treatable. Support may include light therapy, counseling, healthy routines, and, when needed, medication. Small steps—like getting outside during daylight, prioritizing sleep, and setting realistic expectations—can also help.

💙 If your mood is interfering with daily life, don’t brush it off. Support is available, and asking for help is a sign of strength.

#1 Top Moment of the Year: Looking back, we’re inspired by the heart our caregivers showed by dedicating over 1,200 volunteer hours to organizations like United Way, Butte Rescue Mission, Action, Inc., and Habitat for Humanity. Their compassion made a difference across southwest Montana, and we’re grateful for the chance to serve and support this amazing community. 💙🙌
