Join us this Friday at 5:30pm on this historical Mother Lode Theatre stage, whether known as the Bow, the Fox, or the Mother Lode, this Butte theatre has hosted an array of legendary performers and events.
The stage has seen the likes of actress Betty Compson in 1932 and top Hollywood stars like Joan Leslie, Walter Pidgeon, and Adolph Menjou during World War II, who urged audiences to buy war bonds. In the 1940s, the theatre welcomed stars like Sonja Henie, John Payne, Luise Rainier, and Ethel Barrymore, who left lasting impressions with their performances. And we are blessed with the opportunity to host a yoga class here🙏🏼💛
✨It is a donation base class, with all proceeds going to the Motherlode to keep this striking example of classical architecture infused with Masonic symbolism, a hand-carved masonry façade with gargoyle-like lions, and a lobby with a gilded tin-paneled ceiling, reflecting the ornate style of the 1920s.
The Mother Lode Theatre stands as a testament to Butte’s cultural and architectural legacy, blending Classical Revival influences with the unique traditions of the Masons.
If you can’t make Friday class, you should definitely catch one of the amazing shows🧘🏼♀️
