There’s often confusion about what Assisted Living actually is.

Assisted Living is for older adults who want to maintain their independence but need some extra help with daily tasks.

It’s not a nursing home.
It’s not a hospital.
It’s a home — with support.

🌿 What Assisted Living Offers:
✔️ Help with bathing and dressing
✔️ Medication assistance or administration
✔️ Three meals a day
✔️ Housekeeping and laundry
✔️ 24-hour staff availability
✔️ Social activities and community spaces
✔️ A private room or apartment

The goal is simple:
Support where you need it. Independence where you don’t.

🤍 Who Is It a Good Fit For?

Assisted Living may be right for someone who:
• Is struggling to manage medications
• Has had recent falls
• Is feeling isolated or lonely
• Isn’t cooking or eating regularly
• Needs help with daily routines

It’s designed for individuals who do not need 24/7 skilled nursing care but would benefit from daily support and peace of mind.

Many families tell us they wish they had explored Assisted Living sooner — because it often restores confidence, safety, and quality of life.

If you’ve been wondering whether it might be time, we’re always happy to talk. No pressure — just conversation. 🤍

💊 Medication Management Matters

Over 40% of seniors take more than 5 medications daily. That alone can be hard to manage.

Now add:
• Different times of day
• Frequent medication changes
• Confusion about what to take — or how much
• Forgetting to reorder
• Not having easy access to pick them up

It can quickly become overwhelming.

At PCL Assisted Living, we understand that medication management is one of the biggest stressors for seniors and their families.

That’s why we offer options:

✔️ Self-Administration – If you are able and prefer to manage your own medications, you absolutely can. We support your independence.

✔️ Staff-Administered Medications – Our trained staff can administer medications as ordered, monitor for changes, and handle reordering and pickup — giving you and your family peace of mind.

Independence doesn’t mean doing everything alone.
Sometimes it means having the right support in place.

If medication management has become stressful, let’s talk. 💬

“That used to be Grandma’s room…”

One thing we heard over and over again during our open house was people reminiscing.

“That was my mom’s room.”
“My grandpa sat right there.”
“My aunt had the room with the great view!”

Almost every person who walked through our doors had a connection here — a parent, grandparent, family member, or close friend.

And even if you came just to see one person, you always ended up visiting with others too. Old neighbors. Former teachers. Lifelong friends. Community members you’ve known forever.

That closeness makes such a difference in our residents’ lives.

I’ll never forget Sundays when a resident’s son would come to visit. Before long, he’d be pulled over to the men’s table — talking about the latest rain report, cattle prices, who got in the fields first, and whose crops were looking the best.

That kind of conversation only happens when you stay close to home.

It wouldn’t have happened if families had to drive hours. It wouldn’t have happened if time and travel made visits rare.

So many of our residents spent their entire lives here — building this community, raising families, farming this land, serving their neighbors.

To be able to keep that closeness in the golden years means more than most people realize… until you’re in that situation.

If you had a loved one here in years past, or have a memory of visiting someone here, please feel free to share it below. We would love to hear your stories and remember them with you. 🧡

Bathrooms are one of the most common places for falls — but safety doesn’t have to feel clinical or uncomfortable.

In our community, every bathroom — whether Independent or Assisted Living — is thoughtfully designed with both dignity and independence in mind:

✔️ Secure grab bars for stability
✔️ Built-in shower seat for comfort
✔️ Handheld shower for ease and flexibility
✔️ Call light within reach for peace of mind
✔️ Plenty of space to move safely
✔️ Private, personal storage
✔️ Your own apartment-style privacy

And if extra help is ever needed, showering assistance is available — while still honoring privacy and respect.

You’re not giving up independence.
You’re gaining safety, support, and confidence. 💛

It can feel scary to think about leaving the home you love. Many people worry they’ll lose their independence.

But here, you don’t lose your independence — you maintain it.

You gain the support you need, whether that’s help with medications, cooking, cleaning, or laundry — all while keeping your own private apartment.

You continue making your own choices.
You keep your routines.
You stay in control of your day.

And along the way, you gain something many people don’t expect — a family-like community, daily activities, and caring staff available whenever you need assistance.

Independence doesn’t disappear here.
It’s simply supported.
