As we come to the end of National Activity Professionals Week, we’re proud to recognize Mary Kay Eckman, Activities Aide at Concordia at Cabot.
Mary Kay truly loves her role and every aspect of it. While she doesn’t have just one favorite activity, she enjoys engaging residents at all levels — from leading the Funny Money Auction and cooking groups to Bingo, balloon volleyball and meaningful one-on-one visits. She believes activities should always be adapted to meet residents where they are, allowing everyone to participate in a way that feels comfortable and rewarding.
Mary Kay serves our residents with a servant’s heart and understands that sometimes it’s the little things that matter most. Whether it’s helping pour a cup of coffee, kicking a ball or hitting a balloon, she finds joy in seeing residents laugh, smile and have fun while using their strengths. She values each resident for who they are and the life they’ve lived — whether as a nurse, teacher, veteran or caregiver — and always treats them with the respect and dignity they deserve.
Thank you, Mary Kay and all of our Concordia Activities Staff, for the compassion, joy and heart you bring to Concordia at Cabot every day. 💙
