Tuesday, January 16th!

We are open, but delayed! We will be open from 10am to 3pm today to see the patients that can safely make it in that have appointments.

We will not be fully staffed, but we will be here and semi operational if you can safely get out and about!

If you can’t, stay home! Sun is out, and it’s going to be a cold, but very pretty day!

Happy Tuesday!

Good morning everyone and Happy Snow Day!

Hours update for January 15th:

We drove the rides this morning and they are all manageable as there is a lot of powder and little to no freezing underneath.

We have decided to open this morning normal hours.

So if you feel that you can safely make your appointment, we are here!

If you do not feel you can make your appointment safely, or you know you will be cancelling, please text our appointment reminder number or call and let us know (leave a voicemail if we don’t answer) so we can let our providers know and maybe move some patients up from later in the day to fill the slot!

There is some concern over melting and re-freezing for tomorrow, so watch our page for updates regarding Tuesday, January 16 appointments.

Be safe and enjoy the beauty that exists in this powdery snow that we don’t always get to see here in Arkansas!

He’s at it again! We re-introduced Jason Elfington to Blood Flow Restriction Rehab today (he has done if before with his knee rehab many years ago).

Happy Monday! Jason Elfington is back in clinic today for his second visit! Starting out the morning working on some gentle mobility.

He was able to work on his home exercise program all weekend, and says his shoulder is already feeling better!

He’s still having pain at end ranges, so we are working up to that edge and back down. Followed by some hands on joint mobilizations followed by some blood flow restriction rehab to help get a jumpstart on building his strength back up!

Follow along to see Jason Elfington’s journey!

Jason Elfington Update: *note: HIPAA releases have been signed by appropriate parties so we can share these details 😝

Today was Evaluation Day! Our newest Next Gen PT Physical Therapist addition, Dr. Nathan Frey, PT, is evaluating his shoulder right now! Gather some pertinent history and information, finding out what Jason’s goals are, doing an active movement assessment, and getting some range of motion measurements so he can develop the best possible plan of Care for getting Jason back to full function and achieving those goals of his!

Jason Elfington’s goals:
-to be able to climb ladders, ropes, walls, refrigerator shelves, dressers, bookshelves, and all the things he needs to climb for his Christmas Shenanigans.
-to be able to reach behind his back and overhead without pain, in order to do his annual Christmas Eve skydive from the sleigh! (Yes, apparently Jason is now a seasoned Skydiver, and wants to get a jump in at Paradise Valley Skydiving in Clarksville, AR before heading back to the North Pole for his big night on Christmas Eve).
-to sleep without waking up from pain.
-to be able to exercise, lift weights, and get back to doing all the things he did before.

Don’t forget to share these posts and tag friends and family so they can help follow along in Jason’s recovery and Physical Therapy Journey!

Some of you may remember Jason Elfington. He had a knee injury just before the Christmas Season in 2017. We were able to get him back up and ready just in time for Christmas.

Well, he’s back. This time, he was wrangling the reindeer to get them ready for a couple of test runs with the Big Guy, and Comet was not cooperating. One thing led to another, and Jason ended up with a pretty ouchy shoulder.

He and Santa both insisted he come see us again, so we can try to help get his shoulder ready before the big night!

Santa has protected Jason’s magic once again, so the therapists can touch him without losing his magic in order to allow for a more hands on approach.

Update: we are back online and fully functional!

11/28/2023

We are currently being affected by a system wide outage of our Internet Service Provider, Ritter. At this time our phones and access to our scheduling and systems are down.

We are still in office and seeing our regularly schedule patients. If you are having trouble reaching us, this is why.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and really hope we are back up and running soon!

Change is hard, but change can be good! It is with both great excitement and sadness that we announce that Dr. Erin Musgrave will be saying goodbye to Next Generation here in a few weeks. We wish her the best of luck as she joins Baptist Health Therapy Center-North Little Rock to further establish and grow their pelvic health physical therapy program and serve in orthopedics.

From Erin:
“Sometimes God throws a curveball into your path, and I will say I was definitely taken by surprise when He called me to Baptist (especially since I was not looking for a change)! It’s hard to leave behind the place I’ve called home for the past 6 years. I have LOVED getting to serve the city of Cabot, and am thankful for my experience at Next Gen. However, I am so excited to see what God has in store and the lives I will get to influence through my new role! Patients- find a therapy center where your therapy team hates to miss a day of work because they are committed to your success! Therapists- find a team and workplace that makes you cry if you’re called to leave. Forever thankful for my start at Next Generation Physical Therapy, but here’s to a new chapter at Baptist Health Therapy Center- NLR!”
