Harrison County Health Department - Ohio This is the official page for the Harrison County Ohio's Health Department Our Vision: We aspire to be the leader in population health improvement.

The mission of the Harrison County General Health District Board of Health is to promote and protect the health of individuals and communities. Through the use of innovative, proactive, and collaborative approaches we will ensure conditions in which all people can be healthy. Harrison County Health Department (HCHD) maintains social media accounts to provide public information and health education. HCHD is committed to maintaining a respectful environment that shares correct information. To do this, a team of staff members reviews comments and posts on pages affiliated with the Health Department or its divisions. Material may be deleted or hidden if it meets the classifications below, or is otherwise determined to be inconsistent with the values expressed above. Posts and comments may be removed or hidden if they contain:

• Spam comments, such as the same or similar comments posted repeatedly
• Protected health information
• Information otherwise determined to be inappropriate or in violation of the mission of the page. Users who consistently violate these rules may be blocked from commenting. Information posted to any Health Department account should not be considered medical advice and should not replace a consultation with a healthcare professional. During this time of year, we use more furnaces, fireplaces, and other fuel-burning appliances that can produce CO. Take a moment today to check your CO alarms! 👻 No tricks—just treats for your health this Halloween! 🎃

Halloween fun doesn’t have to mean scary habits. Try these spook-tacular tips to help keep you and your family healthy:

🕸️ Carve out time to be active! Walk during trick-or-treat to get some extra steps in and enjoy the fall weather.

🧼 Scare away the flu and colds! Wash your hands often, especially before eating or after being out and about.

🧟‍♀️ Don’t be a zombie! Get plenty of sleep. Rest helps your body stay strong and fight off germs.

Stay safe, stay healthy, and have a fang-tastic Halloween! 🎃🕷️
