Happy Black History Month!

In this 100th year of the observance first launched by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, we honor a legacy that began as a week of recognition and grew into a month of national reflection and celebration.

As members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, we uplift Black excellence not just this month, but every day of the year.

From politics to the arts, science to sports, AKA women have helped shape the fabric of this nation with purpose, resilience, and impact. Our story remains vital. Our legacy continues.

Together, we stand united in purpose, pride, and commitment to our collective progress.đź©·đź’šđź–¤

On this day, we did more than step pretty.. We made a FIRST move that secured the legacy.

On January 29, 1913, led by the visionary and fearless Nellie M. Quander, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® became officially incorporated and protected. Sister Nellie’s leadership ensured that what our Founders built would not only last, but be preserved with intention, structure, and foresight.

This was legacy protection in real time. This was a woman seeing ahead, standing on business, and safeguarding the future of our sisterhood.

113 years later, we are still benefiting from that bold decision, built on Principle, Preservation, and Perpetuity.

Happy Incorporation Day, Sisters!đź©·đź’š

Sisters, never dim your light to make someone else comfortable. Never shrink your brilliance to soothe insecurity.

You were not designed to fly low; you were created to illuminate the sky. Your light is not a threat; it is an invitation. Shine boldly. Lead unapologetically. Love generously.

When you choose love over limitation, your light becomes contagious. It inspires others to rise, to grow, to choose better, not because you lowered yourself, but because you stood firmly in who you are.

Light and love dismantle negativity. Peace protects your altitude.
So, keep shining. Keep soaring. The sky was made for women like you.
