Jesse Giunta Rafeh, M.A. Live Better My mission is to provide people with an opportunity to be the best version of themselves. Why do we sometimes fail to reach our potential? I can help.

We are all unique, and when we allow that uniqueness to shine, we become lovable, productive, successful and happy people. Not because we do not want to be happy and successful. Rather, it is because of obstacles that block our ability to live the life we want. It is because we have developed poor coping strategies, anxiety, depression, or self-doubt. As a teenager I struggled with all four of these obstacles, but through the process of my own therapy, I discovered that I could create the life I wanted. Because of my success, I decided to help others clear their own paths to happiness. If you feel like you are not on the path to creating fulfillment and joy in your life, call me.

Merry Christmas 🎄

Wherever you are today, I hope you find a small moment to breathe and come back to yourself.

The holidays can hold so many layers. And if today feels mixed, messy, or emotional… that’s okay.

You’re human, and you’re doing your best ❤️

My wish for you is simple: a touch of peace, a soft boundary when you need it, and a moment of presence that reminds you you’re not alone in whatever you’re moving through.

Sending warmth and steadiness your way today!

If family dynamics feel triggering this season, here’s the truth ⤵️

It’s not because you’re “too sensitive.”
It’s because your nervous system remembers what your adult mind tries to forget.

When old patterns show up (the criticism, the pressure, the boundary-pushing, the unspoken expectations), your Survival Mind kicks in fast.

And suddenly you’re reacting, shutting down, or over-explaining without even realizing it.

But you don’t have to lose yourself in those moments!

These 5 simple steps above are the exact tools I teach clients when they want to navigate family without abandoning themselves.

The real work is staying grounded enough to choose your response, instead of getting pulled back into old roles you’ve outgrown.

Save this for your holiday gatherings... you’ll want it handy 💛

And if you’re ready to go deeper into shifting these patterns for good, the Live Better waitlist is open. This is where we do the long-term nervous system and emotional work that changes everything!

NYC rain with a three-year-old hits different!

Leo grabbed his little umbrella and walked through the city like he owned it! He was splashing, weaving through crowds, fully alive in the moment.

I forgot how much I loved this city until I saw it again through him.

There’s something healing about letting your kid show you wonder you didn’t realize you’d put down ❤️

GiGi, Leo, and I on the Central Park rocks 🏙️ This is a little snapshot of three generations in a place that holds so much of my history!

There was something really special about watching my mom share her NYC magic with us… the stories, the nostalgia, the way her face lights up when she’s back in the city where I was born.

It felt like a tiny full-circle moment! We had past, present, and future all tucked into one afternoon in the park.

I love seeing Leo take it all in… the trees, the noise, the skyscrapers peeking through the park. And I love that he gets to experience the pieces of my childhood that shaped me, even in small ways.

Family moments like this always remind me how much meaning lives in the in-between moments. The ones we don’t plan, but somehow land right where they’re supposed to!

Leo turned THREE this week, it was Mario-themed, naturally!

And I still can’t believe it.

Somehow it feels like it all happened in a blink… and also like I’ve been a mother my entire life.

Motherhood has stretched me, softened me, challenged me, and expanded me in ways I never expected. It’s been the most growth-filled, humbling, kick-ass experience.

It's forced me to meet parts of myself I didn’t even know existed.

Every year with him feels like its own chapter of becoming.

Learning to slow down.
Reconnecting to what matters.
Choosing presence over perfection.

And honestly? I’m just so grateful I get to grow alongside him.

Here’s to three years of Leo! Curiosity, giggles, Mario blocks, and all ❤️

Most people assume their emotional state is fixed.

“I’m in a bad mood.”
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“That’s just how today is going.”

But that’s not the truth. You can shift gently, intentionally, and without bypassing what’s real.

State Shifting isn’t about forcing yourself into positivity or pretending everything is fine. It’s the practice of recognizing when you’re in Survival Mind.

The stress, shutdown, irritation, and reactivity are just signals, and they're guiding you back toward clarity, grounding, and your True Self.

It sounds simple, but it’s one of the most life-changing skills you can build.

Because when you learn how to regulate your internal world, everything else becomes easier:

You communicate more clearly.
You feel more present in your relationships.
You stop spiraling into old patterns.
You start responding like the version of you you’re becoming, not the one that’s just trying to get through the day.

Inside Live Better, this is exactly what we practice: becoming an active participant in your emotional experience rather than a passive one.

If you want next year to feel different, calmer, clearer, and more grounded... this is the work.

It’s not just a “bad habit,” it’s a coping strategy...

We often don’t realize that the things we beat ourselves up for... oversleeping, numbing out with Netflix, snapping at someone we care about... are actually ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves.

They don’t make you weak or broken.
They mean your nervous system is trying to stay afloat.

The problem isn’t the coping itself. It’s the cost that comes with it when we stay in these patterns long-term.

→ When distraction turns into disconnection
→ When relief keeps us from real healing
→ When survival mode becomes the default setting

It’s okay if some of these hit close to home. You’re not alone! There’s nothing here that can’t shift once you become aware of it.

Which of these patterns shows up for you? Save this for the next time you’re tempted to judge yourself!

I’m a little late to post our Halloween picture (life has been full!)... but Leo was too cute not to share!

He loves being a little scared, getting lost in the Halloween mayhem, and taking in all the lights and decorations.

For him, this holiday was basically his Super Bowl.

Catch me up, what did you do for Halloween?

Remember: when it comes down to it... the work we do as self-aware, high-functioning humans quite literally is how we create a life that feels peaceful, grounded, and deeply aligned from the inside out.

So, if you’ve been having a hard time in your day-to-day... emotionally, relationally, or just feeling like something’s off, I want you to remember that…

You’re allowed to outgrow the survival strategies that once kept you safe

Self-trust can be rebuilt, even if you’ve second-guessed yourself for years

There’s nothing wrong with you for still feeling stuck sometimes

It’s not always easy, but it is so worth it!

Want more insight into all the above? You’re in luck!

My 12-week program Live Better is now enrolling, and we're almost at full capacity!

Feeling stuck in patterns like overthinking, people-pleasing, or emotional shutdown is exhausting.

And when life looks “fine” from the outside, it’s even harder to admit something’s missing.

You just need a new way forward, one that honors your growth and reconnects you to you.
