Happy Monday,
We've been getting a lot of questions about technology use of kids while Safe at Home during COVID-19. As a parent of two, Dr. Weissman has also been trying his best to manage and balance screen time. Having homeschool on tablets and computers and requiring a huge increase in screen time makes it even more challenging. A major news publication even stated that it was okay to let your kids game as much as they want to they can connect socially. That is wrong and does not foster the best communication style. It is still about balance. Some gaming (about 2-3 hours/day) can be okay. Certain games are better than others of course. As a response to these concerns and misinformation, we are starting a parent support group that will meet online for 8 weeks, starting April 22.
