Social media is part of growing up today—but healthy habits matter just as much online as they do offline.

Dr. Tolcher shares simple ways to help your kids and teens stay safe, confident, and balanced in the digital world:

✔️ Keep communication open (no judgment, just conversation)
✔️ Set clear, age-appropriate boundaries
✔️ Prioritize real-life connections and sleep
✔️ Stay involved—get to know the parent controls on their apps and devices, know what platforms they’re using and how they’re engaging with them

The goal is to help our kids learn to use social media safely—and only when they’re truly ready for it 💙

AI is here—and many kids and teens are already using it.

While there are real benefits (learning support, creativity, problem-solving), there are also growing concerns with unsupervised use—especially when it comes to misinformation, inappropriate content, and how it may impact developing minds.

The truth is: we don’t fully understand the long-term effects of AI on children’s development or mental health yet. But we are already seeing situations where lack of guidance can lead to confusion, distress, or unsafe interactions.

So what can we do as parents?

✔️ Keep communication open
✔️ Set clear, age-appropriate boundaries
✔️ Stay involved—AI should never be used unsupervised
✔️ Teach your kids to question what they see and hear

AI isn’t going away—but with the right guidance, we can help our kids use it safely and responsibly.
