A little overdue Valentine’s Day post... we just have to talk about the power couple nobody saw coming but everybody loves 💘

**United Bank** + **The Rose House** = the ultimate love story.

By day, United Bank is all,
“Let’s plan your future. Let’s build something secure. Let’s grow together.”

And The Rose House is like,
“Perfect. I’ve already set the table, lit the candles, and arranged the roses.”

United Bank brings the stability.
The Rose House brings the sparkle.

One protects your assets.
The other protects the vibes.

Together, they’re not just making transactions — they’re making *heart* deposits.
Not just building portfolios — building *forever*.

If love had an interest rate, theirs would be sky-high.
If romance were an investment, they’d be long-term locked in.

This Valentine’s Day, here’s to partnerships that are secure, beautiful, and blooming nonstop 🌹💼

Now that’s what we call a well-balanced relationship.

To our admirers at United Bank - Thank you for the Roses, the card, and the love song singers!

Our Rose House ladies have been getting creative — from crocheting cozy blankets to making the cutest little yarn dogs taught by our very own Lisa Clewis! 🧶🐶✨

These projects bring joy, confidence, and peaceful moments of reflection. If you’d like to support their creativity, we’re gladly accepting yarn donations at the Rose House or any CRCI campus.

Thank you for loving and encouraging the women of The Rose House! 💕

With many residents making first-time commitments to Christ, many new followers are now ready for baptism. Today, our friends at Embracing Christ Fellowship Church helped lead residents in taking this significant next step.

These women entered the experience regretting their past and hoping to close the door on it. They came out displaying their new commitment to Christ, which will lead them away from their past additions.

Praise the Lord! Does anyone have an Amen?

Josh, Kaci, LJ, and Rayne set out on a mission this morning using Burney’s to spread Valentine’s Day cheer. We are so grateful for our hardworking teams and thrift making sure we continue to have resources to support our residential programs.

Happy Valentine’s Day FB family!

Hi, my name is Maria
I am a highly favored and blessed believer in my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am a woman in recovery, building a solid foundation in my faith.

I grew up in a blessed home. I never went without, and I had both of my parents, no matter the circumstances. But it wasn’t the picture‑perfect image society paints. Behind the glitz and glamour, fancy cars, wealth, and the appearance of having it all, there were toxic behaviors, childhood trauma, and the feeling of being used as a pawn. My sister and I were conditioned from a young age to take care of everyone else first and ourselves last. That became my reality.

Church was a huge part of my childhood. My mom, sister, and I went on mission trips, served the less fortunate, and were in church every Wednesday and Sunday. My understanding of a Higher Power was never in question.

But life still brought pain.

When I lost someone I loved deeply, a selfless, Godly man named Chris, I couldn’t understand why God spared some and not him. Grief, guilt, shame, and unanswered questions consumed me. I isolated, masked my emotions, and tried to stay strong for everyone else. I turned to self‑medicating and allowed negativity and the enemy to outrun the foundation of faith I once stood on.

I questioned God’s will. I questioned my purpose. I questioned Him.

In the chaos of grief and reckless decisions, life threw another curveball: I got a DWI. That moment forced me to choose the high road. I traded alcohol for accountability and focused on working and taking care of the consequences of my actions. But even then, flesh battled spirit. I wasn’t perfect, and I still made mistakes.

I forgot that I have to be selfish with my sobriety. I have to love myself first, or it’s a fast race toward relapse. God willing, the third time is the charm.

With a bruised but mended and grateful heart, I encourage you:
Let God be your compass and faith be your guide.
Choose wisdom over foolishness.
Show love, not hate.
You are never alone.
He is your light, your friend, your ultimate authority.

Our understanding of a Higher Power may differ but find your understanding.
Life isn’t defined by our faults; it’s defined by our character and the lamp at our feet.

Life isn’t always beautiful, but it’s a beautiful ride.

My name is Teresa, and this is my story.

I grew up in a loving family. My grandma raised me as her own, so I always called her “Mom.” She was a great woman, and I loved her deeply. When I was 7 years old, I learned that the person I thought was my sister was actually my biological mother. That truth changed a lot for me.

In 1993, I married a wonderful man—the best husband and father I could have asked for. When my daughter was born, she had a twin sister who passed away at birth. I didn’t know how to handle that kind of pain. I later learned that I had postpartum depression, but back then there wasn’t much help or understanding. That’s when the pain pills started—at first just to numb the heartbreak, then more and more as time went on.

Four years later, my son Ryan was born. By then, the pills had become a part of my life. I started partying, using pills and co***ne, and convincing myself I didn’t have a problem. Eventually, after ten years of marriage, my husband couldn’t do it anymore. We separated, and even then, I still didn’t see the truth.

Years later, after losing my family, my home, and my car, I finally realized I had a problem, but I felt like it was too late. I tried to end my life. I took a lot of pills and walked into the river, not realizing how deeply it would hurt my kids. When I woke up and saw the pain on their faces, I knew I needed help.

My daughter Telisa sent me to a mental hospital after the attempt. It helped, but the medications they put me on caused me to lose even more. My kids were losing faith in me, and I was still hurting.

Then someone came into my life who changed everything, my grandbaby, Enne Dage. My kids told me, “Mom, you need to do this for your kids and your grandbaby.” That’s when I finally said yes to getting real help.

My daughter found Rose House, and that’s how I ended up in the place that has truly helped me heal.

Thank you, Rose House.

We had special visitors last weekend — Mr. & Mrs. Stephens stopped by to deliver a bundle of knitted hats for our warming facility. Mrs. Stephens is a member of the GFWC-South Brunswick Islands, and their generosity came at the perfect time.

During the snowstorm, we were able to provide safe shelter for men, women, and families each day and night. Gifts like these help us meet essential needs and care for our neighbors with dignity.

Thank you to everyone who supports CRCI and makes this work possible.
